Really?!?!?!?

I should be used to these cliffhangers by now! This book is absolutely fantastic. With good strong characters and a non stop action packed storyline I loved it. A brilliant performance from all these narrators. What a cast!!!

Intense

This is so intense, starting off right where book 1 ends. Octavia has a lot to deal with, the guys, the knights, a stalker?
Secrets & lies.
Broken pasts and an unknown future.

Series heat turns up

This book turns up the heat between Octavia, East, Finn, Maverick, and Lincoln but the threat of the stalker and the Knights hangs over their heads. Love the friendship between Octavia and Indy they really are ride and die for each other and love the glimpse we get of Indy’s relationship with her guys as well. We also delete into the relationship between the guys and their dads it’s a competition of whose dad is worse. Ugh the fathers in this series are totally the worse. The cliffhanger was a shocker can not wait to get into book three. The narration was was amazing as always loved that every guy got a voice.

Steamy action!

So many hot men surrounds Octavia, but the threats keep on coming. I love the build-up between her, Mav, Fin, East and Linc and there are so many moving parts. The cliffy had me panting for more. I need to know what's going on! 😍

Dark High School Bully Romance

Lost Royal by Lily Wildhart is a dark high school bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Heather Firth, Blake Lockheart, David Black, Gideon Frost, and Gregory Salinas. This is the second book in The Knights Of Echoes Cove series.

This is the second book of Lily's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed getting Octavia, Finley, Easton, Maverick, and Lincoln's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The cliffhanger left me begging for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series Caged Royal to be released on audio.

Heather, Blake, David, Gideon, and Gregory did a great job on the narration. They all really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, enemies-to-lovers romances, bully romances, or romantic suspense.

I wasn’t as engaged in this story as much as I would have liked to be. However, while I struggled a little with this read, this was still wasn’t a bad book, I just didn’t fall in love with it.

The pacing felt a bit slow for me, I wasn’t as hooked in some parts as I was with others. The plot didn’t feel deep enough, or rich with intrigue. Some scenes felt like fillers, and the action didn’t kick in until the very end.
As book two of a four book series, I think I expected a little more plot to fill each chapter. I wanted to become fully engrossed in the story, but sadly it didn’t do it for me.

I don’t think I’ll rush to pick up book 3, but never say never 🩵 I’m still a little curious as to how this is all going to pan out but I’m not probably won’t continue with this series just yet.

The characters were likeable, I didn’t find any of them annoying, but I haven’t felt a connection to them yet. We see hints of each of the guy’s pasts, but I would have liked to see just a little bit more, so I can understand them better.

Overall, I’m very 50/50. I think I’m going to round this rating up to a 3.5 ⭐️ mainly because I see the potential there, it just needs a bigger spark to add that little bit extra to the story, making it above all the other reverse harems out there.

I would recommend this, but I would say this isn’t the best reverse harem I’ve ever read, though it certainly wasn’t the worst. Maybe I’m not as hooked because I feel like I’ve been in an on and off reading slumps for a few weeks now 😭 so I might do a reread in the future when my head is clearer.

For now, I’m going to put this series on hold, but I’m not against picking book 3 up in the future 🩵

Lost Royal, the second book in the Knights of Echoes Cove series, is a wonderfully written reverse harem romance with the right amount of dark.
The plot is brilliantly developed with layers upon layers of drama, intensity, and suspense interwind with steam, ardour, and passion, making the story downright captivating. The main characters, Octavia, Maverick, Lincoln, East, and Fin, are uniquely intriguing and appealing. Octavia is learning to deal with trauma while navigating a new life. The dynamic between her and the four hotter-than-sin guys is as convoluted as they are. Gradually, they each redeem themselves, and thrust their way back into Octavia's life, something I didn't think would be easily achievable.

The narration is spot-on. I loved the various point-of-views and narrator. Heather Firth, Blake Lockheart, David Black, Gideon Frost, and Gregory Salinas did an incredible job bringing the characters to life while portraying dispositions and complex emotions. Overall, The Lost Royal was a super entertaining and enjoyable listen, one I'll highly recommend.

Great second book

This book was everything I wanted and more. Beware it does end of a cliffhanger (again) but so so worth it. Great second book and I can’t wait for more!!

I need more of the Knights!

Vee really can't catch a break! With a stalker, bullies and a secret society after her she's really going through the wringer in this second instalment. Indy and Smithy need to protected at all costs as these hits keep coming.

I love a secret society but after two books I really want to see a bit more of them. They all seem like brutes but the mystery surrounding Vee and her dad is what is keeping me hooked; why is she so important? Have the Knights never heard the expression "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar?"; if she is that crucial I don't understand why Daddy Saint didn't just try and marry her to Link as that 100% seems like something he would do!

Normally I appreciate a longer timeline and as much as I love Indy and Vee going on their side quests I'm looking forward to the Knights coming out of the shadows in book three and taking a larger role.

I loved the development of the guys in this as they realise that letting Vee in rather than pushing her away makes so much more sense but the grovel needs to be in line with the sleight! They all have a lot of making up to do. Blair and her squad are just vile; I really want Vee to make a stand against her soon.

I really enjoyed the narration in this and it works so well as a duet with the volume of characters. These are new to me narrators and they all put in great performances. Mav and East in particular are highlights as Mav's humour definitely comes across more in the audio as does East's sweetness.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely and I have added all the authors works to my TBR
