Summary

When the truth is harder to believe than disguise.

Drugged and betrayed in his own household, Fitzwilliam Darcy makes his escape from a forged compromise that would see him unhappily wed. Dressed as a footman, he is welcomed into one of London’s unknown neighborhoods by a young lady who is running out of time and running for her life.

Deciding to hide in plain sight, Miss Elizabeth Bennet dodges the expectation to marry the man of her mother’s dreams. When the insolent footman she “found” refuses to leave her side until they can uncover a solution to their respective dilemmas, the two new acquaintances treat themselves to a holiday, experiencing the best of what Regency England has to offer.

Based on Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, can two hard-headed characters with kind hearts discover the truth behind the disguise? Enjoy the banter, humor, and growing affection as Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth have the best day of their lives, and discover that they just might find love and romance while on a London Holiday. This audiobook is appropriate for all ages.

Surprisingly good.

The whole thing is very well done. What just about every other variation of our beloved story does over the span of months, this lovely tale manages in a single day and it does not suffer for it.

The turn of events was very surprising and it was a lovely unique angle to pursue. I highly recommend this book to any and all who takes pleasure in a story full of romance, humour and a delicious scandal.

As always Stevie does a wonderful job narrating as she so well captures the different personalities with nothing but her voice.

Excellent!

A lovely story, wasn’t sure of the “comedy” aspect of it but actually it’s different & highly entertaining & narrated by the ever wonderful Stevie Zimmerman.

Wonderful ❤️

I always enjoy the playful jesting between Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam. It is no different in this book. In fact there is plenty of it. The reader/listener can't help falling in love with both.

There were plenty of juicy mishaps to keep me wishing to listen just a little longer each time.

Without giving any of the plot away, I did not see the turn of events coming. Marvellous.

As for the narrator...I can only repeat what I have said countless times before... Stevie Zimmerman is a joy to listen to. She has an astonishing repertoire of reading/speaking various accents, as well as the capability of speaking male and female voices, older voices as well as children's voices so believably, that it leaves me wondering every time at just how she does it. Extraordinary!

Thank you to the author and narrator for a thoroughly enjoyable audiobook.
