Summary
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Living Dangerously by Katie Fforde.
Polly Cameron is happy being 35 and celibate, living in a small Gloucestershire town with a possessive cat for company and a Rayburn for comfort. After all, a relationship would only complicate things...but Polly's life is already complicated.
In addition to her job in the Whole Nut cafe - and her part in the 'Save Our High Street' campaign - there's her pottery career to get off the ground.
Not to mention dodging the efforts of her friends and mother to find her a husband.
Living Dangerously is a deliciously funny look at rural life, with an array of hilariously depicted characters and a heroine with more than her fair share of biting wit and innocent charm.

Delightful
This book made me smile then laugh out loud. Why?…because the characters were so real; the situations unexpected; the use of language truly added to the characters; the unique scenes so refreshingly crazy…..must listen to another!

Classic Katie Fforde!
Lots of twists and turns, a book with diverse topics and characters and an insight into the life of a potter, it really doesn't get better than this. This is the second time I've listened to this and it just gets better. Audible finally released all Katie Fforde's older books, thank you!

So happy
When I saw some of the Katie afforded back catalogue was available on audible- didn’t disappoint from the days of borrowing cassettes from the local library- fingers crossed that the rest including Highland Fling and Going Dutch follow soon

Brilliant story
Loved this story even though Polly drove me mad at times!! The narrator is excellent.... I REALLY enjoyed listening to her..... She sounded so much like she was thoroughly enjoying the story..... I couldn't wait to listen in on my dog walk each day. Very disappointed when it finished...... I wanted to hear more...... 😄

Love Jilly Bonds narration
Polly drove me mad, Im a female and even I didn’t understand her! And her poor cat being left to fend for itself! Excellent writing and superbly narrated!

Got half way through and gave up
I have listened to over 200 lighthearted books similar to this one. I gave up on this one half way through as there wasn’t really much of a plot of any kind, and not much of interest was happening. I didn’t bond with any of the characters.

Living Dangerously: 1st published in 1995
Disappointed to find out that this not a NEW Katie Fforde novel as a publicity email announced. It was in fact published in 1995 and I had already read it.
The story is a good one and the performance was up to Jilly Bond’s usual standard. However I have reduced the overall rating to 3 stars because of Audible’s false advertising.

Totally awful
Not only were the characters totally banal and unbelievable, so was the ‘story line’, such as it was. The whole trite edifice of this literary horror was compounded by the breathy, extremely annoying narration. DEFINITELY do not recommend. I’ve suggested to Audible, in the interests of their customers sanity, it should be deleted from their catalogue! You have been warned.
