About this listen
Over a hundred years have passed since a group of violent killers went on the rampage, murdering innocent victims for fun. But even back then, sorcerer Nate Garrett, aka Hellequin, knew there was more to it than simple savage pleasure—souls were being stolen.
Nate's discovery of the souls' use, and of those supporting the group's plan, made him question everything he believed.
Now the group Nate thought long dead is back. Violent, angry, and hell-bent on revenge, they have Hellequin firmly in their sights. And if he won't come willingly, they'll take those closest to him first.
The battle begins again.

excellent story and great performance

By this point in the series all the major characters are well developed and he no longer feels the need to throw in sex scenes, relying only on the unfolding story to keep your attention. And I love how he uses his own take on Jack the Ripper as part of Nate's back story.
However, I need to express my frustration with the narration. As we have progressed through the series James Langton has decided to change the voices for Tommy and Grayson and oddly goes on to portray a character described a "probably from Newcastle" with a strange Scouse/Irish hybrid accent. Added to that, for the bulk of the book, Erebus becomes Erberus. These are issues that should have been picked up on and ironed out during the recording process and corrected.
I can't help but wonder if this has been blamed on the narrator with the change to Simon Mattacks for book 6...
Disappointing narration

Sometimes by this stage of a series it can become a little ragged but not here there's so much unanswered so much more I want to know. The books seamlessly fit with no plot gaps or issues. Can't wait for the next book from one of my favourite authors.
Another outstanding Nate adventure
