About this listen
Two radical groups have joined together for a common purpose - to kill the President of the United States, and they're looking for the perfect person to do the job.
Not a cold-blooded killer or a vicious assassin, but a model citizen, far removed from the watchful eyes of Homeland Security.
When the president comes to Kansas City, the unlikely trio of Walt, Willie, and Louie the Lip find themselves knee-deep in the planned assassination.
Join our heroes for another suspenseful mystery and lots of laughs!
©2013 to present Robert Thornhill (P)2017 Robert ThornhillWalt Williams, the 69 years old cop in Kansas City, is back on the streets - and in disguise again! - with police partner, Ox, assorted friends and relatives and even his half brother, Mark Davenport, now in Homeland Security, reappears to help out Lady Jusice. Again interweaving different investigations with personal reflections and comedic characters, this episode in the glorious Lady Justice series has all of the best Robert Thornhill attributes. In an afterwads, Mr Thornhill reflects that although, in writing these books, his main reason is to bring a smile, he also hopes to raise awareness of other serious societal issues. He succeeds on both counts. Like Walt, too, the author still has faith in the goodness inside of everyone despite the sometime failure of our moral compass.
Walt's story, again a delicious recounting of his day to day adventures (and family interactions), is perfect!y presented by George Kuch, who does not so much perform as become the elderly cop. Another fine rendering of a great character in a simply superb series. I love these books.

Walt is being kept busy on a serial shaver, yep shaver someone in breaking in to homes to shave the family dog. Mean while behind the scenes to powerful groups have come together to recruit everyday man to take out the president. How? By giving a desperate man a chance to feed his family. Black gangs are also one the up rise and looking for new members. One of the members they target is related to a close friend if Wally's and when guns start blazing Wally turns to his good friend Walt to help get the boy out if trouble. But with Walt things never go smoothly and the gang ends up in even more hot water than before as all the cases come to a conclusion at the same time.
I like the narrator and once again he brings humour to his reading.
