Summary

It's not easy, being king. You can't always rule a kingdom and still do what needs to be done.

Eric - or King Halar, also known as the Demon King - has more than enough problems without the crown. But quitting the job of king isn't easy, either - unless you want to be beheaded. Most people regard that as an unsatisfactory way to quit. Even vampire lords tend to be cautious about guillotines. A king who loses his head has a real problem...or none at all.

It's time to sort some of these problems out, settle a few more, and kill the rest. But at what cost?

Knightfall is the fourth book of the Nightlord series. It picks up exactly where Orb (book three) ends, and carries on with an adventure of epic proportions!

Absolutely love the series!

My only problem with the book is that it has to end at some point. I love hearing about Eric and his blundering through life from 1 problem to the next. I did find bits of the book very moving and it even brought a tear to my eyes at points... im sure you can guess where if you read the book.

Brilliant series

What a clever, talented and witty author. Goes to one of the top of my best authors list. Gave me many, many happy hours of listening, I do love lengthy, interesting great stories to listen to in one go and this series was the best.the only downfalls were the sometimes lengthy monologues of his difficult theories of mathematics and science of how he worked things out in his mind-non of which I understood. Sounded a bit like Stephen Hawkins . No offence to Mr Hawkins he was a brilliant man with a brilliant mind , but way above my intelligence and understanding. I just skipped over those chapters. I. Would certainly recommend this series .

simply brilliant

I've loved all the books in this series so far and can't wait for book 5 (void) to come out on audible, the good part is that I'll have to listen to the 1st 4 books all over again to recap :-) . all the characters in these books are believable even the Eric's (hallar) computer and the story lines are equal parts funny serious and sad. my compliments to the author for a fantastic story line and to the narrator for a stellar performance.

Storytelling at its best

When I lfirst started to lsten to the first book in the series I wasn't certain about Sean Runnette's voice. By the end if it I was and now I could not imagine anyone who could begin to match him.
The story telling is superb (if a little gory at times - after all, this is a book about monsters and vampires!) and I love the nuances between good and evil and strength and weakness that the book conveys all if which is perfectly captured by Mr Runnette.
Don't start the series here - you will be missing out, but definitely listen!
