An easy listen

I found the first book a bit boring but it set the scene for the later, better story. It was easy to listen to, and the short chapters made it easy to put down without missing anything, although I must admit I like listening to the previous chapter first when I go back to it.

Adam Croft creates a new Gene Hunt

In the Knight and Culverhouse first 3 books Adam Croft has created a Gene Hunt for the noughties. Jack Culverhouse embodies all of the policing made famous by Jack Reagan (for those of us old enough to remember The Sweeny) and Gene Hunt in the brilliant Life on Mars. Culverhouse believes that policing has become far too PC and not in Police Constable sense, and feels it is his job to bring back the bad cop in the good cop bad cop scenario. I love this character, he made me laugh out loud. As to the books, they are pretty well thought out and flow at just the perfect pace to make them enjoyable. Is Adam Croft a great author? Only time will tell. Is he a brilliant and talented story teller? ABSOLUTELY!!! Well done Adam!

LOVED IT

I loved this book - it was gritty and compulsive listening - I really related to Knight & Culverhouse as they fought their own private demons whilst investigating grizzly murders - Well narrated by the author Adam Croft. As soon as I had finished I downloaded books 4 & 5 - Cannot wait, Superb

Great series

What a wonderful character Culverhouse is! Great stories, and a thoroughly enjoyable listen. Make my daily long walks all the more enjoyable, and an incentive to walk, since I only listen to audiobooks whilst exercising

Adam Croft at his best

Great new series introducing Knight and Culverhouse. A formidable duo taking shape in a realistic setting.

Not good

The books are short so no real depth to any story making them very predictable. The characters are just awful, Knight is portrayed as a simpering girl and further she suffers a dreadful tragedy which is treated with flippancy in both the writing and narrative. The author narrates and this too does not lend itself to helping the storyline.
