About this listen

Will figure skating enemies become lovers?

Henry
Everything comes easily for Theo Sullivan, whether it’s jumps or figure skating world titles. Everyone loves him—judges, fans, coaches.

I hate him.

Now he’s invaded my training center, and I have to see him every day as we prepare for the Olympics. I’m going to win gold if it’s the last thing I do. I’m going to beat him.

But the strangest thing is happening. I’m peeking under his happy-go-lucky exterior and discovering there’s more to Theo than I imagined.

This is a mistake. I can’t trust him.

I can’t be falling in love.

Theo
My mom’s convinced training with Henry Sakaguchi will distract me heading into the Olympics. No way—Henry’s epically boring and cold. He might as well be carved from ice.

But when I need help, he’s there. He tries to keep me at arm’s length, but it’s no use. He’s too kind. Too generous. He’s caring and gorgeous and hot, and I’ve never wanted anyone like this.

I might want Henry more than a gold medal.

Am I falling in love?

Kiss and Cry by Keira Andrews is a steamy gay sports romance featuring grumpy/sunshine opposites attracting, secretly soft-hearted boys, hurt/comfort, and of course a happy ending.

I enjoyed listening to this book, as with many book by both this author and this narrator.

Enjoyable book

Touching moments bring two ice skaters together, it's a bumpy road to start but slowely all falls in place. There is a hint of PTSD that shows it's not always war that haunts the mind. Greg once again brings it to life.

A real love story

Really enjoyed every minute of this story and will definitely be listening again!

May contain spoilers….

I saw a few reviews saying it’s just like all the other enemies to lovers stories, but I honestly don’t think it is, yes they’re ice skating rivals but it just seemed different to all the others I’ve read.
For starters, it’s a great slow burn which is my absolute kryptonite 🤌🏼😍
I don’t think we get any ‘action’ between them until around the 4/4hr30 mark and that was perfect imo because the sexual tension and build up to that point was written so damn well! I kind of wanted them to hold out even longer for each other and really start pining but what we did get was hot 🥵

As for the enemies to lovers, I get that they start becoming friendly with each other pretty early on, but it’s all kept quiet and they don’t really act that way at the rink, until they do and ofc it starts to become more obvious but around 70% of the story is still like a forbidden/ taboo friendship and then romance because everyone they work with all think they should be arch nemesis and hate each other.

I was disgust when we find out about the Anton and Mark situation, especially Mark. Some people are just vile and have absolutely NO conscience whatsoever 🥺

I thought there might’ve been something said about Henry’s control issues, with needing to be perfect all the time, on form and have the healthiest diet! But I don’t know if that started before that photo was taken or after, and that might be his only way to feel in control of his life because he couldn’t control that photo.
I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ but my heart breaks for him if that was the case and Mark could do Jail time in real life if he got caught 😤

Anyway, absolutely LOVE both Theo and Henry. You wouldn’t think they’d work but they just work so well! Henry’s quiet cool and collected (unless you have the privilege of knowing him) Theo’s outgoing, confident and friendly with everyone so they balance each other out so well 🫶🏼

Theo’s mums a total bitch who is projecting her own dream onto her poor son. So glad he stood up for himself!

Overall a really lovely read/ listen and the narrator was fab as always

What a great read/ listen! Added to my favs for this year!
