About this listen

On an ocean liner bound for Natal, adventurer Alan Quatermain is engaged as a guide. Supplied with arms, courage, and determination, he and his group set out through Africa's beautiful but often dangerous and inhospitable wilderness. Their trek culminates in the discovery of a lost sacred mine that could bring them all riches...or death!

Yes, it is written in an age that no longer exists, and it is not intended for individuals who are outraged by how things used to be.
This story is full of adventure that many people in the past must have had, exploring new corners of the planet never seen by anyone. You forget how fortunate we are to know what we know and how far we have progressed as a civilization.
I chose to listen to this because these stories is what my mother grew up with, and now that she is gone, I wanted to know what it was like to hear these stories myself.

I very much enjoyed this story.
