A Safi, au Maroc en 1967. Jacob a huit ans. C'est le seul garçon d'une famille juive de sept enfants et pour sa mère, c'est la septième merveille du monde. Son meilleur ami, c'est Brahim. Il est musulman et c'est un très bon joueur d'osselets. Jacob et Brahim se retrouvent presque tous les jours après l'école et ils s'amusent ensemble.
