Summary

A hilarious memoir of home truths and whatever the opposite of "that girl energy" is, from one half of the hit podcast Toni & Ryan.

Like most of us, Toni Lodge tells little white lies all the time. Whether it's "I'm five minutes away" or "It must have gone to my spam folder", most of these innocent fibs are harmless. But what if you realised that you weren't just lying about the little things, but the big "life" stuff too?

When Toni sat down to write this memoir, she realized that the lies she was telling herself were hiding some pretty important home truths—about her work, her identity and her mental health. In her dogged pursuit of these truths, she brazenly explores everything from gastro, fame and Twilight to funerals, the Dalai Lama and Brazilian waxes.

In this hilarious warm hug of a book, Toni exposes the lies she has told herself about who she is and what she is capable of, inviting us on a riotous romp that will make you laugh, cringe, cry and utterly rethink the truth behind the stories we tell ourselves.

This is amazing, any TARPer (Toni and Ryan Podcaster) will love to hear it. Even if you don't know the Podcast or Toni, go listen to the Podcast and fix your life. beautifully raw honesty, and laught out load

Listening to Toni read her life story has been both beautiful with raw honesty emotion and times of laught out load moments. Times were I've replied "me too Toni, me too".
Toni's heart felt raw emotion and honesty is what makes this a great listen/read.

A book about love

As someone who knows greif well and uses humour as a defence, this really hit home with me. Tonight has written her story open and honestly, and it one I know a little about through my own experiences. I love her podcast with Ryan and it is my morning boost when I get up for work. I laughed and cried throughout this book, I loved every minute of it too, because really, this book to me, is about love. Love for friends, love for family, love for others in general, and love for oneself. Thank you Toni, for letting us in ❤️
