About this listen

Pinion, Minnesota: a huge city of all of 700 folks who define the phrase ‘small town’. Nothing has ever happened in Pinion, and nothing ever will...until the mayor of sorts comes up with a scheme to put Pinion on the map. He’s heard of a place where a floating image of the Virgin Mary turned the whole town into a shrine, attracting thousands of curious people and making the townsfolk rich overnight. Why not stage a prank in Pinion and do the same? What could go wrong?

And then a dead body shows up.

It turns out that lots can go wrong with a get-rich-quick scheme like this one...and lots will. It’ll take everything Virgil Flowers has to put things to right - before someone else dies.

A really good listen and insight into small town USA. Eric superbly narrates these Virgil books.

Yet another thoroughly enjoyable Virgil Flowers story so real world. People actually act as you would expect in real life . If you liked the others you’ll like this. Well read as always by Eric Conger who seems ideal for these stories.

Classic Sandford

Love the Virgil Flowers’ series of books by John Sandford. Good plot and characters, Eric Conger has a great voice and the books would not be the same without him. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I love everything about John Sandfords books. His characters are great and the plots are ingenious. I really like the description of the small towns and the people there. But what absolutely nails it down is the narration! Smooth, deep and sexy!

Never disappoints

[John] Sandford once again provides a fine story with some of my favourite characters in great form. Fast moving, original and at times just funny, this is a typical Flowers story and keeps you guessing........a good read.

Just as good as it gets........
