About this listen

For museum curator Andrew Allison, the sleepy little Maine village of Safehaven has always lived up to its name—until now. Fleeing an abusive relationship, Andy has returned to Safehaven for a few weeks while he figures out the future and helps elderly Uncle Cuthbert run his antiques shop. But when Andy arrives, he learns Uncle Cuthbert is in the hospital, critically injured, the victim of a late-night break-in.

Worse, one of the first messages on the shop’s answering machine is from Marcus, Andy’s ex, demanding to know Andy’s whereabouts.

Nor does the bad news stop there. It seems whoever broke into Time in a Bottle is still looking for that mysterious whatever. Something they didn’t find the first time. Something they now believe Andy has.

Something worth killing for?

The good news is former bad boy Quinn Rafferty, Andy’s high school crush, is back in town and interested in renewing their acquaintanceship.

Quinn is not a man to run from things that go bump in the night, be they mysterious midnight prowlers or a relationship-shy, fish-out-of-water museum curator.

But Quinn has a few secrets of his own....

Got this as one of my first audible books last year. I’d run out of credits last week so relistened. Loved the story still fresh and good. Narration was brilliant - kept the characters alive

The story was entertaining and it was a nice mystery. Enjoyed the story and tje characters. Too bad the reading performance was so unenthusiastic and lifeless. It felt like he was reading the story for the first while recording. Luckily, the story was good enough to keep me listening!

Good story, not so good performance

The story was only so-so, but I really enjoyed the narration. Shout out to James Woodrich for his excellent rendition of Beatles songs. Most narrators just read out the lyrics, but James actually sings them and does it well.

Enjoyed the narration

The concept is interesting and well written. The characters are likeable and the narration is good.

Enjoyable Story

Good story, maybe a little too long? Narration ok, but a bit rushed - chapter headings followed immediately upon the last words of the previous chapter.

Good

Shockingly grating bad narration, so uncharacteristic for a JL book! Wedding cake with Marmite, it's just NO. Overacted, overdone whiny characters voices, such a shock after Chris Patton, Kale Williams and all the brilliant voices chosen to bring her prior books to life. Managed 15 minutes.

DREADFUL. RETURNED
