Below the English town of Ipswich a tunnel boring team is digging through solid rock when unexpectedly, they break into an ancient cave system filled with animal bones. Strangely, there were also the remains of men, knights in armour, some crushed, and some seemed to have had their bones and flesh melted. And there was one more thing found – a huge egg-shaped ruby that glowed like a setting sun.

I’ll confess that to start with it was eerily similar to a 2000’s film reign of fire with the opening plot being very similar. Though I am happy to state that that is where the similarities ended!

A really good follow on to the series, and I’m hoping it’s not the last of them. Good solid research has been done in to myths and legends, culminating in to a fantastic book.

Highly recommend, along with all the authors other books that is!

This book is brilliant!
The story never flags. Plus, there are some truly horrible monsters.
The penultimate chapter was quite shocking. I didn't expect that to happen. Listen and you will know what I mean.
I wonder if there will be a further book in the series. I hope there is.
