it was a very interesting, well written book. I couldn't stop listening! Kurt was much weirder and more gross than I imagined!

I always thought he was killed, now I'm pretty sure it WAS suicide after all

I found it compelling listening as the author brings to life details of different moments in Kurt Cobain's life, and in the reading how he reflects the the voices of the different contributors to the story, and how they spoke.

I liked the empathy and level of detail, and it's very well written and structured, as well as the transparency in revealing the darker aspects of Kurt's behaviour.

A bit more insight from experts and former addicts into how addiction takes over someone's personality and drives their behaviour, might have helped in providing more insight and understanding, along with including links in the resources at the end, to help people dealing with addiction

What I really dislike, however, is where Charles R. Cross, having remained seemingly neutral up until this point, expresses his opinion in the closing sections, dismissing as 'conspiracy theories' questions that have been raised about whether Kurt's death was a suicide.

There is compelling evidence, combined with some expert opinion, which supports claims it was not physically possible for Kurt to have shot himself, due to the amount of heroin found in his system in the autopsy.

That is more than just made up conspiracy theories from fans and people just out to make money.

Charles R. Cross should have either refrained from passing comment, or explained why he does not agree with the arguments that have been presented, including from experts with experience in pathology.

Charles R. Cross portrays what he imagines Kurt was thinking and feeling in the final moments of his life, which he cannot possibly know for certain.

In that way way he is attempting to speak for Kurt.

But overall I'd say it's a good read/listening experience, that provides a lot of details based on memories of those who knew Kurt.

i loved it, this book really made me understand why I loved Kurt and his music, the way he was, who he was, the book really made me get to knoq the Kurt I've always known but now knew how and why he was himself and understand him. miss you Kurt, I too have battled heroin and divorce and depression. thank you for everything and for your lifetime of love and honesty. thank the writer and person who wrote the book. breathtaking

Very detailed and brilliantly presented. Research was truly done for this book down to very extraordinary details.

This truly presented Kurt to me as I never have seen him before.

It was hard to feel a-lot of sympathy for him after this book, he just seemed so much like a narcissistic, self absorbed, lying, manipulative, angry D**K. Really recognise he had his issues but it just seemed to be his personality was quite rotten but this book I feel did give me more understanding about his personality and character so it gave me a sort of Love/Hate feeling about him while reading listening to this. To say he was a complicated guy is an understatement.

However all i wish to say at the end is Nirvana absolutely one of the greatest bands in history! Kurt Cobain was a legend of music!

After this book i will say my perception of him is a little different.

I was 14 at the time of his death (spoiler!) and never a fan of Nirvana, but listening to this book has made me revisit some songs again, and especially with the state of current music, I've grown to appreciate them for what they were. I'll never be a fan and my opinion of the man hasn't really changed - a damaged poser constantly looking for reassurance - but this book was truly a great listen and I'd put it up there with some of the best rock biographies I've heard.
