Summary

Amazon’s #1 Most Unputdownable Book of the Year.

An Amazon Charts bestseller.

A Wall Street Journal bestseller.

A Washington Post bestseller.

From New York Times bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes an unexpected love story of secondhand hearts and second chances...

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.

Something blue.

I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old".

Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.

He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from discovering the story behind his last love letter. A love letter that did not result in a happily ever after.

But that story is nothing compared to the one unfolding between us. It’s getting hotter, sweeter, and more surprising than anything I could have imagined.

Something new.

But I have no idea how this one is going to end...

Critic reviews

“Keeland and Ward double team on this sweet, funny contemporary.... Excellent escapist fodder.” (Publishers Weekly)

Hate Notes is fun, steamy, emotional, and quite the slow burn.” (Harlequin Junkie)

“A must-read.... I knew Hate Notes would be an engaging, funny, and seriously sexy romance, and it is. What I didn’t expect was the powerfully delivered, emotionally impactful and memorable storyline that resonated and moved me.” (USA Today’s Happy Ever After)

4.5 Oh So Emotional Stars

4.5 Oh So Emotional Stars
Not what I was expecting. I thought it would be the same old egotistical alpha jerk chasing, beautiful, strong willed jilted bride to be. It wasn’t! It was so much more. Although it wasn’t a complete sobfest, it was highly emotional and I did shed a tear or two. I adored Reed Eastwood, I didn’t agree with all his choices or decisions, but I adored him all the same. The chemistry between him and Charlotte Darling (with a capital D), was brilliant. They were so funny together, their sense of humours just clicked. I laughed, I cried and I loved. Supporting characters, too, were perfect. Wonderful writing (no surprise there). I was rooting for these two from the get-go, and that was before all the curveballs got thrown. I listened to this on audible and although I’m very well acquainted with Sebastian York, Lynn Barrington is new to me. She did not disappoint.

LOVED THE CHARACTER AND THE HUMOR

4.5 STARS

I adored Charlotte and Reed and I adored this story. basically, anything Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward turn's out I go gaga over I love their writing, the plots and the characters.

HATE NOTES was So good, so many times I've burst into laughter, I love the characters.

A bit about the plot;
When Charlotte finds a note pinned inside a wedding dress, a love letter to his future wife, Charlotte becomes curious about the man who wrote it and why was the dress now in a second hand store were she was taking her own dress, she knows her story and why she's no longer a blushing bride but why this dress?

Curiosity gets the better of Charlotte and she decides to stalk Reed on Facebook and try and find out more about the man behind the note, maybe it would renew her faith in love again. A drunken night leads to an appointment to view an apartment with Reed, an apartment way above her finances but she goes along with the viewing just to see the man. Reed is onto Charlotte and calls her out, you could say he was rude and arrogant and Charlotte ends up leaving the apartment upset.

Let's just say Charlotte finds herself crying in the bathroom of the building, disappointed with the man behind the note who wasn't what she was expecting at all. Charlotte finds herself unloading everything to a dear old lady in the bathroom of the building, everything, all about her ex, about being jobless and the reason she was so curious to go to see the man who she now hated. Charlotte comes away with a job offer and new hope for her current hopeless life.

When Charlotte and Reed meet again it definitely gets interesting, I laughed at Charlotte she was so funny without trying to be, she certainly could put the stuffy guy in the bow tie in his place and she did so over and over. I loved the love-hate relationship Charlotte and Reed had going on. Reed couldn't escape her even if he wanted to it seemed his Grandmother loved her and she had been hired to be the family's PA.

A great light and humorous romance with a heartwarming hea. I loved it and would definitely recommend. I listened on audio and as always with these two authors choice of narrators it was brilliant, the narrators really brought the characters and the story to life.
