Summary
The New York Times best-selling series based on the blockbuster Xbox® games!
While Spartans get all the glory, no soldier - not even the legendary Master Chief - wins a war on his own. Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck and his team of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs) played a major role in saving the Earth from all-out invasion at the end of the Covenant War - acts of bravery and ingenuity that did not go unnoticed by the United Nations Space Command.
Now, after many Spartans have been killed in battle, and the Master Chief is listed as MIA, the UNSC decides to create a new generation of Spartans to defend humanity from threats both outside and within. When they come to Buck with an extraordinary proposition, he is forced to make a life-altering decision. With the Covenant War finally over, is it time for him finally to retire to the sidelines for a life he could only dream about...or is he prepared to step up and become part of the military's new blood?

Little boring
This book should be called the life of Buck, and it’s not worth it, the story’s are ok and do tell the story of Buck but it’s not worth the extra credit I got for it.
Scott Brick is really boring in this book its hard to get behind him and follow the story and enjoy it.

great story but short. 6 odd hrs
the story was very good. the reader was easy to listen to, although not great with different voices, some times i forgot which character was talking. but still a solid 7/10.
10/10 would be more variety in character voices and maybe around a 9 or 10 hr story length

Let your own opinion do the work
This story just like the rest show you a new light to the halo universe, people that try to say cod is better than halo know nothing of story telling. The halo universe is not about one man, one planet or one species, there are thousands of different stories that tie to the games and even venture out. NEW BLOOD is one of those, it helps depict how Halo 5 Spartan teams came about whilst telling a more in depth story about the controversial game odst. Brilliant to listen and read.

Loved the crossover with the Halo ODST game
Really good book for any Halo lover. stayed true to the law as most of the Halo books do and have a really good second view from the eyes of an ODST.

Fantastic if your a halo fan
Honestly I would say that the only thing that lets this book down is the fact that the reader/performer what ever you’d like to call it, makes it hard to distinguish between who’s voice is who’s unless you are listening quite carefully or following the flow of conversation there is a Slight variation but not a huge amount of difference between the voices.
