Absolutely loved this book. It twists and turns all the way and keeps you guessing. Sketty is a really strong, well-developed character who draws you into the story from the outset. Superb narration.

I have been missing Tina Boyd in Simon’s more recent books. This book does a great job of introducing some new characters and potential for on going plot. Really enjoyed listening to it.

I feel Simon Kernick is back to his best with this novel.
Fast paced, intriguing and with characters you care about, despite the fact he doesn’t waste a single word in superfluous descriptions.
The storyline was part of the white-knuckle ride too. It took twists and turns that the reader/listener only realises when they are in them.
I loved it.
Paul Thornley’s delivery and performance is perfect for the story, the characters and the pace, from full speed ahead to melancholy meandering though and back again almost as though someone took control of your own mind process for a while.
