Dr. Dave Walker was a successful anesthesiologist with a special interest in the intensive care unit (ICU). Disillusioned with God after a series of tragedies, he was living for himself and his work. Yet he longed for more than just physical healing for his patients, which set him on a quest to find a God who cared.

After a dramatic encounter, he started praying with his patients. Suddenly things happened beyond anything he could have imagined. Patients were healed miraculously; others experienced Jesus bringing comfort and peace; and still others felt the power of God's love in the face of tragedy.

The reader’s voice could get monotonous , but remember he is the author- not a reader specially chosen by Audible.

Better not to prepare the dinner whilst listening- at least for the first few chapters.....it could make you queasy!

As a Christian, it challenged me. As a non believer- it is early worth listening to!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. He is articulate and inspiring without being patronising. You can feel the emotion of his life experiences , which brought laughter and tears to me which very rarely happens.
I would recommend this audio book whole heartedly to anyone that is trying to look into spiritualism . It’s not pushy on religion, it’s just factually related to his own personal experiences with ‘God’ during his work as a physician .

I looked forward every day to tuning in to the next instalment of this book.
Before I started reading it, I thought it was going to be about miraculous healings however, it was about the miraculous ‘showing up’ of God in life’s most difficult circumstances.
My favourite story was when Dr Walker was struggling to be Christlike in a relationship with a ‘difficult’ colleague. It struck me forcefully how different the ending of that story would have been, had Dr Walker not walked the Christian path and blessed his enemy.
I am going to delve into more of Dr Walker’s books.
