Summary

Ever feel like you’re different? Perhaps you even feel like you’re special. Are you out to save the world? Is your secret mission in life to help others?

Meet the children of Generation Q. At first they had to be hidden because others were hunting for them, trying to eliminate them, before their specialness infected the world. For then it would be too late to mold the world according to the ideals of those who hunted these infants. What will it take for the world to accept these children who have now become adults? They look a little different from you and me. They act somewhat differently from you and me. And they definitely think very differently from any one of us. Should we fear them? Or should we accept their help and work with them to save the world? And what if, just when we’re on the verge of accepting them, our worst, hidden fears come true? What if it’s not we who are special?

"What do you think ?"

As a parallel earth enters the new millennium, around the world at a rate of about one per month, a few 10 month gestation babies start to be born. At first hidden, protected,, though they mostly look like us, they are different. They are special.

Potentially, this has the makings of an excellent story but, at under one and one half hours, so much time is initially devoted to describing the rather tedious details of the arrival of the first four babies and how their mothers think them special that there is too little time left to develop the 'history' more fully. A pity. Even as it is, there is a thought provoking theme.

I struggled with this book, somewhat, despite the reading by D.Michael Hope being clear and we'll presented, if a little slow -speeding up the playback slightly helped. His voice was pleasant, his sentences well modulated. But the story itself was clunky.

My thanks to rights holders of Generaton Q, from whom I received a freely gifted complimentary copy at my request via Free Audiobook Codes.
