I love Galaxy’s Edge books and read the Takeover series last year in parts but listening made it so much better, I am not a huge fan of Ray Porter and can’t listen to him narrating the Tyrus Rechs books past the first chapter, he has improved (or my standards have dropped) I would advise him to listen to the RC Bray GE books so he doesn’t not continue his bastardisation of the characters names

Good story but I felt it lacked the galaxy spanning and edge of your seat action aspects from previous books and, it was a little disappointing that I wasn't reunited with certain characters but it was enjoyable. I'm a fan of Ray Porter, love his narration of the Bobiverse books, but I would love it for Ray to have pronounced certain names the same as R C Bray had in series 1. I enjoyed Ray Porter's performance. It can be distracting when a series narrator changes but I feel his style suited this story well.

You know when a TV show sort of assumes you're going to show up and doesn't really think about how to keep you engaged or interested? Well that's what we have here.

The story is perfectly fine and there's nothing really to complain about. Most of the characters are hard to differentiate from previous books because ultimately you have a limited set of personalities that might getting upto this kind of action adventure.

If you're on the fence about reading/listening to this it probably makes sense to wait for the next book or two to see if anything truly interesting happens.

Story was not as dynamic as maybe we are all used to with the legion andthis series, but it was OK and a possible good lead in to the next season 2. Lots of people not liking the narrator and did take spme getting used to after RC Bray, but by end of it I didnt dislike tbh. Is probably well labelled as a 0.5 ook in that its an interim to he next season. Am addicted to this series

clearly just another build up story laying the ground for the rest of season 2 , didn't really make sense until the end.
goth sullas seems to have been replaced fairly quickly . good story though a bit drawn out in places and takes a bit long to get to the point. clearly being based on the middle east with the Muslims playing the part of the ghee but we got that for a while now and again its very pro american veteran/military type of writing. think authors are trying to hard to base it on recent conflicts and yet make it original but still borrow from star wars, LOTR and even Peter Pan through out the series, hope the next book is better

Producers need to do better when there is a change of narrator in a long running series, Ray Porter is good enough but they all should have at least checked RC Brays Pronunciation seeing as he has done 5 parts already bit annoying and amaturish..,if thats even a word!lol when you hear chhu-hooon

The Galaxy's Edge series is among the best Science Fiction I have ever listened to. Normally R.C. Bray narrates the books and does outstanding job. This time it is Ray Porter and although I was sceptical he could pull it off, he does an amazing job and really brings the book and characters to life. If you haven't already tried this series, do yourself a favour and start from the first book and make sure you give it a chance. The books can be a little slow starting, but after the first quarter they take you on a roller coaster ride of gritty military SciFi!

Honestly I have no idea about narrators generally but RC Bray was instrumental and I unfortunately don't like the tone that Ray Porter has. I know that is subjective but it sounded much more monotone and bass heavy which is not to my liking and has actually stopped me listening.

Gave it a quick go in hopes I would be okay with it but yeah I am picky with whom the narrator is. Same reason I love Warhammer 40k but listen to almost no books or the McNab series because they don't sound pleasant to listen too.

Hopefully RC Bray is back in the next book and I may just read the basics to know what is going on story wise from this one.
