About this listen
Welcome to the Frisky Bean, with coffee to wake you up and pastries to turn you on.
Listen. My daily goddess card tried to warn me that a big change was coming. She did. But I was still not prepared for the impact that he would have on my life. That day when we met, I quite literally fell into him.
It was mortifying. It was exhilarating.
It was totally unprofessional. It was hot.
While our actions and bodies were most definitely aligned, our intentions were not. How so, you ask?
Well, I was blissfully busy pursuing my goals for my new café, The Frisky Bean. I did not ask, nor have the time, to deal with complications. And since I felt as though we were both falling hard, all seemed well-blended.
That right there was mistake number one through five thousand, because he has no understanding of love, and my goddess cards have some explaining to do.
Here’s what I know. Sometimes, even the best recipes flop, while a recipe riddled with mistakes can yield unexpected perfection. What were we?
A freaking delight. Stop asking me and listen to our story.
Don’t forget your oven mitts, because one thing we were very good at is bringing the heat.
CW: discussed childhood, loss of a parent to cancer, and parental neglect.

Summer & Jason
4.25 stars
Frisky Intentions was a super fun, seggsy and quirky listen. Summer and Jason were ridiculously cute as couple, their struggles as people were so very normal it took me a while to remember this was set in LA.
Despite finding their first seggsting a little cringy all other seggsy times were supper sxteamy. Joe Arden’s narration of Jason’s POV of one of those times was so good I had to re-listen. It was soo good I wondered if he was… okay…
Emma Wilder as Summer was superb. Summer was feisty and sassy and Emma really brought it home with her narration of Summer’s thoughts and dialogues.
Shout out to the bloopers at the end. Loved it.

A Fun Listen
This is actually my first Audiobook by Michelle Mars and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If you are looking for a witty story with minimal angst then this just may be the book for you.
Summer and Jason are an insatiable couple their appetite for eachother is very impressive.
They click as soon as they meet so you could say this is an instant attraction, book ,but don't go on their first date for a while.
Summer is pretty much a quirky character and an open book...But Jason is the opposite he is closed off about his family and his upbringing has effected him now he is an adult.
Which ultimately hurts their budding relationship.
Joe Arden and Emma Wilder narrate this story with the perfection that you can always expect from these two talented storytellers.
I am a huge fan of both and so I love listening to them as they retell this book to me,their voices project all the emotions of the characters in a smooth and precise execution. They made me blush more than once with those intimate scenes,..and laugh and smile at the funny dialogue. They are Magnificent.
I found this book really enjoyable and interesting and loved listening to it.
I highly recommend it.

Giggles and feels
This is a new author to me and I am glad I had a listen to this one. The narration was top shelf and this book has everything I expected. It was funny, steamy and has characters you just wanted more of. I loved Summer & Jason’s story and can’t wait to get more stories from their world. I would definitely recommend this book.

Excellent performances by both narrators
This was the first book I’ve read or listened to by Michelle Mars, but I expect to listen to more. I enjoyed the book/author/book store references. I also liked that the characters talked about what was bothering them.
I’ve listened to many books performed by Emma Wilder and Joe Arden, and yet they somehow exceeded my high expectations. Emma Wilder’s male voices are exceptional, and Joe Arden delivers lines while sounding truly distracted, out of breath, etc. I’d like to give them more than 5 stars for their excellent audio performances.
I received a copy of this book at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

🧁Fun, adorably awkward and charming
This was such a cute and fast paced romcom by a new to me author. Summer is seriously lacking a verbal filter which is super awkward for her, but fun for us. Jason keeps showing up at just the right time. Both are hard working and focused on their careers and neither are quick to let people in.
I really enjoyed this sweet story. The MCs fell hard and fast from the first awkward meeting and stumbled, much like Summer, into their HEA. The writing worked for me and the side characters helped fill it out well. The narration was excellent as I've come to expect from Emma and Joe. They are a great narrator team as their emotional performances and beats are well matched, and the transitions between POVs are really smooth making it a very easy and enjoyable listening experience.

Sweet, Spicy & Entertaining! Great Story & Listen!
I enjoyed this book immensely, the story drew me right in, grabbing my attention and holding it the entire time. It is a sweet and spicy story with a perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions, a touch of angst, and a steamy romance. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they were easy to care about too. Summer is the co-owner of The Frisky Bean, a unique bakery and coffee shop, and I loved the whole concept behind it and the naming of the products. The shop is doing well, but Summer and her partner work hard to keep the people coming into their business and area looking at ways to expand. Jason Winters is an agent for the stars and a potential client raved about the shop and its goods, so he went there to get some treats for her. And then there was Summer, and he felt an instant attraction to her and the feeling was mutual. I adored Summer, quirkiness and all. Jason was straight-laced in comparison, but they worked and it was great to watch their relationship blossom. Except Jason’s insecurities and need to compartmentalize his life may cost him the best thing in his life. There was never a dull moment in this wonderfully plotted story, and I loved how it all played out. Michelle Mars, thank you for this entertaining story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fantastic narration, Emma Wilder and Joe Arden were the perfect cast to bring these characters and the story to life. They had a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice fitting to that character’s persona and were believable in every role they played. Wilder aced it as Summer, and I loved how she owned the role, grasping her quirkiness and all the other sides of her personality. Arden did the same as Jason, nailing his demeanor and personality perfectly. Both were fabulous playing the secondary characters and handling the humor and witty dialogue easily. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters' emotions and had you feeling them all. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Entertaining and cute
This was a very entertaining story from a new to me author. Summer is adorable and cute with stunning looks and a personality that is very likable. She’s a bumbling mess sometimes and despite her ability to make the best of pastries she can’t cook for the life of her which I totally understand.
Jason is an up and coming agent and is the polar opposite of Summer but they both fall hard and their relationship is beyond hot. There is plenty of emotional depth, a little drama and I loved the side characters. I was thoroughly entertained and the narration was great as I’ve come to expect with Joe and Emma. I highly recommend and don’t miss the bloopers they are hilarious.

The spice level was great and those scenes were hot
The narration duo of Emma and Joe was well done as usual.

Funny, smart, and excellent story
First, let me tell you how clever and sweet this story is. Michelle Mars has written an adult love story about two people who perfectly imperfect for each other. Summer owns the Frisky Bean, a coffee shop full of sexual entendres and clever marketing. Summer is surrounded by friends she loves and budding business that keeps her busy. Jason is a business man who comes into the coffee shop. He’s immediately drawn to Summer’s quirkiness, personality, strength, humor, and occasional sass. There is no denying the immediate chemistry between these two. There’s also denying that what was supposed to be a fling becomes so much more.
But there are issues, including complex childhoods that cause problems with trust. Jason and Summer know they’re right for each other if they’ll just learn to embrace what they have right in front of them.
I found myself chuckling out loud during much of this story. It was a smart, fun listen. I really enjoyed it.
