A very pleasing listen
It is not the type of book I normally read but with the perfect narration I got
caught up in the story which was really good. I will definitely read more of Dilly Court’s books as they are historical and pleasing. Loved it

Good grief
Immature Mills & Boon meets echoes of Jane Austen but with none of the literary talent. The sad thing is that in the hands of someone who could actually draw a character, it could have been quite (quite only) good. The plot was not too bad. The narrator read well - she paused at the right places, it flowed easily - but even she kept confusing the characters’ voices.
I don’t think even Barbara Cartland had her heroine changing her mind in 24 hours.
I got to the end but only because I had a long car journey and no other options

Full of set pieces, no cohesiveness.
It was obviously from the beginning who the heroine and hero were. Then, the story becomes convoluted, stupid, and unbelievable. The characters are all one-dimensional. Why a snobby old lady would talk to, let alone sign her property over to her bastard grandson, when she has two legitimate grandsons is too too ridiculous. Listening to it was extremely tedious and farcical, In a short time, I started fast forwarding, hoping things would improve. There was no good spot to land, and the ending was a squib. Don't waste your money. I haven't listened to this author before and will not be wasting any more credits.
