About this listen

The brand-new thriller in the Sunday Times best-selling series

For a homicide cop, murder often started the day. For the mixed-race female sloppily wrapped in a tarp and stuffed in a construction site dumpster, it had surely ended hers.

Lt. Eve Dallas hasn't even arrived at work when her first call of the day comes in. Alva Quirk - 46 years old, sidewalk sleeper - was beaten to death with a crowbar. Known to the local cops for handing out origami flowers to anyone who gives her change, Alva was well-liked, but with no fixed address, no job and no family, there's no one to remember her.

Eve has barely had time to examine the crime scene when her second victim of the morning is discovered just a block away. Make that second and third. Jane Doe - a well-dressed young mother and her baby shot and buried over 40 years ago.

Two very different victims in the same location with no one to claim them. Coincidence? Or does the history of the site hold the answer? To uncover the truth, Eve must delve into a world of family businesses, Russian mobsters and shady dealings. These two women may have been forgotten in their lifetimes, but Eve Dallas won't let them be forgotten in death

Another great episode, the story, the narrator all so enjoyable. The characters we know and love to follow in a recent and old murder mystery.

I always love these books. This one was no exception. The different elements to the story were good. I liked both parts. I love it when Harvo is in the story and seeing Eve talking to Elsie was funny. The thing that stuck out most was the mention of the Topper. No idea what a Topper was but I swear it was mentioned 50 times. So funny. I loved the book though.

I loved it as usual

Brilliant as usual

Story, Narration, Characters, everything was just brilliant AND we get two detailed stories for the price of one!

No cutting corners or cheesy quick fixes - two stories worthy of their own standalone titles. It’s hard to choose a best title in this continuous stream of great titles, but this one is right up there!

Brilliant! As always!

I'll admit that I've found the last few Robb books to be generally poorer in content and a little repetitive however Forgotten in Death seems to have hit all the right notes, although the narration did not feel as good as usual, I found it more difficult to distinguish some of the characters. The story was interesting and the investigation flowed well, and Alva's back story added a lot of human interest.

Much better

Another great story with well loved characters. The only minor blip was Eve seemingly forgetting information from her interview with the elder Singers. I put it down to her being tired!
As usual I found the narration and pacing spot on.

JD Robb does it again
