Summary

A True Mates novel

Nicholas Cartwright has done everything in his power to forget that night six months ago in Senaka when his true mate rejected him, leaving him shattered and disillusioned. Burying himself in his work, he pushes himself to the point of exhaustion while finding the touch of another unbearable. Suddenly his mate needs his help, and he may be asking for more than Nicholas can find it in himself to give.

Thayne Whitedove has always been a wanderer, spending his days on the road and his nights wrapped in the arms of whatever random hookup he meets, until a fateful mistake sends him rushing for the comforts of home. To his utter dismay, the only way to correct his error in judgment is to accept the one thing he's never wanted: his mate. Thayne must decide whether to keep running or to stay and fight for Nick's forgiveness.

Great listen

This book is almost 12 hours of listening. I usually listen when I'm driving, this book however has accompanied me through housework, laundry and just sitting for a few minutes. It is a lovely follow up to Chasing Seth. There were a few times I wanted to smack Thayne upside the head but I got over it! Lol. I hurt for Nick, but I also hurt for Matt.

Derrick McClain does a wonderful job of the narration, all the voices have their own characters and the are easy to tell apart.

Overall I recommend this audio to shifter readers that like a bit of conflict and danger in their listening.

The narrator is great

What would have made Forgiving Thayne better?

Making it about 6 hours shorter

What was most disappointing about J. R. Loveless’s story?

It is so repetitive, I went to sleep during the book and when I woke up a couple of hours later the characters were no further forwards.

What does Derrick McClain bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He's got a great voice, but works better with good material, such as More than Chemistry.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Umm, if you don't mind a lonnnnnnnng whinge between characters then this would be a great book.
