About this listen
When Wren Irving's numbers come up in the first ever national lottery draw, she doesn't tell her husband, Rob. Instead she quietly packs her bags, kisses her six-month-old daughter, Phoebe, good-bye, and leaves.
Two decades later Rob has moved on and found happiness with their oldest friend, Laura. Phoebe, now a young woman, has never known any other life. But when Rob receives a mysterious letter, the past comes back to haunt them all. With their cosy world thrown into turmoil, Laura sets out to track Wren down and discover the truth about why she left all those years ago.
Isabel Ashdown lives in West Sussex with her carpenter husband and two children. Any additional comments?
This was well written with nicely drawn characters, but it didn't quite have enough substance for me. Everything about it seemed as if it should just have a little more depth. Two thirds in, and I found myself feeling a little bored with it. I was interested enough to want to know what happened to the characters and I wondered if there would be a twist that turned it around. In the event, there was a piece of new information, but it would be a stretch to call it a twist. When it ended, I felt it had been a disappointing listen.Good, but not very good. Needed something more!

It was a good story with lots of hidden story lines.Would you ever listen to anything by Isabel Ashdown again?
Yes I would. Was Flight worth the listening time?
Yes. The detail about the wasps was very good and I can only assume a lot of research went into that detail.Any additional comments?
I would like to have understood the reasons why the main character did what she did. I waiting through the whole book but the explanation never arrived.Slightly disappointed

One tiny criticism is that the narrator read quite quickly in comparison to others I've listened to - but got used to this pace as the story developed.
Great Audiobook.

Where does Flight rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I'm not sure this book works but there's enough suspense to keep you listening. However I simply did not believe the chapter of the woman who has taken 'Flight'. There are some good twists and turns though.A bit far fetched but a good read
