Summary
A veteran of deployments to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and a nationally well-known and respected Army psychologist, Colonel James's expertise made him the one individual capable of taking on this enormous task. Through Colonel James's own experience on the ground, readers will see the tightrope military personnel must walk while fighting in the still new battlefield of the war on terror, the challenge of serving as both a doctor/healer and combatant soldier, and what can-and must-be done to ensure that interrogations are safe, moral, and effective.
At the same time, Colonel James also debunks many of the false stories and media myths surrounding the actions of American soldiers at both Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, and he reveals shining examples of our men and women in uniform striving to serve with honor and integrity in the face of extreme hardship and danger.
An intense and insightful personal narrative, Fixing Hell shows us an essential perspective on Abu Ghraib that we've never seen before.

A complete waste off money
This is the worst book I have ever brought and in my personal view a complete waste off money. If it had off been a paper back I would off thrown it across the room or straight in the bin, before I was half way through it!
Terrorism is a very serious subject, and the war on terror cannot be won by removing interrogation and interviewing a prisoner for 1 hour a day. Before sending them out for 1 hours PE, and giving them a ?fish slice? quite possibly with chips and a shake for lunch. This psychologist obviously does, a terrorist in his early teens is just as dangerous as an adult. Is it such a good idea then after an hour off ?interview? in the morning, to spend all afternoon educating them. When they are released is the plan to release them with a degree in nuclear physics or the like?
If not only the Psychologist, his wife and his child where all so unhappy, for 3 years before he was re-posted. Why did he fear bringing up the subject with his family and talking about it, perhaps he could of ?interviewed? them over dinner. After all he is the best psychologist the USA military have, isn?t he????
Personally I feel he should never of been in the military he would off been better off going to ?San Francisco to grow flowers in his hair? And could off found Psychology work in a kinder garden. Perhaps he should off read up on Islam and the way of the Islamic tribal war lords before accepting his posting. He may not off had so many bad night sleep had he understood the culture of the people he was ?interviewing?.
LAST COMMENT The war on terror cannot be won by feeding prisoners a diet of pittza, a fish slice or a shake. Please don?t waste your money buying this book
