About this listen

Billy's got a lot on his mind that he'd rather not think about. So instead he watches David Attenborough (because Sir David's got all the answers) and swims in the sea, just letting his mind drift.... So when new boy and nature fan Patrick Green starts at school and becomes Billy's friend, things are different. Whilst swimming out at sea, a mackerel swims up to Billy's face, blows bubbles at him and says, 'Fish Boy!' Billy knows he must tell Patrick, because a crazy talking mackerel changes everything!

A brilliant story, narrated perfectly. Loved it. Funny but sensitive. The child's voice is so authentic.

Best narration I've heard on Audible.

If I could return it, I would.
Nothing is happening forever, the story takes far too long to develop. I am not even half way through and all that has actually happened in relation to the title is that a mackerel apparently talked to him.
Why the narration with the accent? Each time I start listening again to see if there is actually anything going to happen ever, other than the boy having the most miserable existence, I have to start adjusting to the voice which just doesn't seem to fit the character.
Sorry, but this has not been a pleasant listening experience for me.

The most boring book I've ever downloaded
