Summary
A jaded warrior who doesn't want to get involved and an irresistible she-dragon on the run.
For centuries, the Guardians of Lisbon have kept shifter forces in check — dragons, vampires, and witches. Now, with their powers dwindling, they’re too busy to respond to a lone woman’s cry for help.
Novice dragon, Laura Sampao always knew her family descended from dragon shifters, but that power — or curse — hadn’t manifested itself in generations. But when she inherits a family heirloom, her life changes forever. Now, vampires are after her blood, and her last hope is a mysterious, jaded warrior who saves her from a brutal attack. And that’s just the prelude to a far greater danger, giving her no choice but to trust the infuriatingly gruff, handsome stranger who awakens all kinds of hidden desires.
Marco da Silva, heir to an ancient dragon dynasty, has been burned by damsels in distress before, and he’s determined not to get involved. But somehow, he just can’t resist. Before he knows it, he’s spiriting Laura off to his private island hideaway with his inner dragon vowing to keep her safe. Because his heart isn’t the only reckless force stirring in the shifter world — powerful enemies are on the move too, and they’ll stop at nothing to seize Laura — and take control of an entire continent.

Great
I say this every time I review but these are great books to listen to, there is a little bit of everything included, murder, mystery and of course romance.
Excellent story telling and narration, well worth a listen..

Steamy scenes and a flaming good fight.
Another amazing book in the fire Maidens series, it's getting harder to decide which I love the most. Such interesting and well written characters, an explosive storyline that had some very heated scenes. Without spoiling anything, that ending made my heart sink. It wasn't even bad, but omg Finn. I just wanted to wrap my arms around him, it's so easy to get attached to the characters in these books. The narration is really perky and so good, if you're having a bad day I'd definitely pick up these audiobooks. They are really enjoyable, and not as gloomy as some books can be.

Laura amd Marco
Anyone who reads my reviews will know how much I love Anna Lowe's books but I especially love them once the wonderful Kelsey Osborne has added her magic touch to the audio. This book about Laura and Marco was one I particularly loved. Laura Sampao always knew her family descended from dragon shifters, but no one had shifted in so long that they all assumed that power was lost. That is until she inherited a ruby necklace from her great aunt and found herself shifting into a dragon! Her life will never be the same, she decides to go to Lisbon and seek the help of the Guardians there as her family originally came from Portugal.
Marco da Silva, who we met previously when he helped Sergio and Lena in Rome, is the heir to an ancient dragon dynasty, but he’s determined not to take his father's seat as one of the Guardians believing that power and respect should be earned not inherited.
Whilst Laura is waiting for the Guardians to answer her plea for help she finds herself being pursued by a vampire and a dragon through the streets of Lisbon. Her one chance to escape is to take flight, but she is so new to flying will she be able to do it? Just when she thinks everything will be lost and she will be caught by the dragon pursuing her another dragon arrives on the scene and chases her pursuer away. He's, gruff and distant but he offers her refuge, he takes her home to his vila and begrudgingly offers her assistance.
Marco may want to keep himself to himself and stay away from women but when his dragon wakes him late one night and tells him that Laura is in danger, he has no choice but to help her. He defeats the dragon pursuing her and as she has nowhere safe to go he takes her home.
After another attempt to capture Laura by the vampire, the only way for him to keep her safe is to take her to Madera, but the only way they can get there is by flying and not in a plane! He has only done that marathon flight once will a novice like Laura be able to make it?
Once on Maderia the danger level increases, Marco begins to teach Laura all she will need to know, will they be able to get help from Madera's Guardians? But the danger has only increased and powerful enemies are on the move, enemies who will stop at nothing to seize Laura and use her power as a stepping stone to obtaining control of the entire continent.
But by this time Laura and Marco have realised that they are mates and are determined to defeat their enemies and be together. Their love story is action-packed and yet at times sweet, but this is a love story between dragons so there is lots of heat, from a dragon kiss to a dragon bond. I loved it, thank you, Anna and Kelsy you make such a wonderful team.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Dragons and danger
Fire Maidens: Portugal is the fourth book in the Billionaires and Bodyguards series. This book follows Laura and Marco’s story. Every book in this series so far has thrown the characters (and the reader) straight into the action from the beginning. Chased by vampires and shifters, Laura needs help, and it arrives in the form of Marco. Laura finds out very early on that Marco is a shifter, and I like that this isn’t a secret between them. There is the usual danger, excitement and steam that’s always present in Anna Lowe’s books, and the narration, as always, was brilliant.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, and I'm leaving a voluntary review.

Awesome narration for a awesome book
Book 4 of Fire Maidens: Portugal by Anna Lowe
Laura is very new to her dragon, after finding a gem she shifts and make her way to Portugal where her heart says she needs to be.
One night a vampire attacks her and Marco comes to rescue and finds out a fire maiden has come to Portugal.
I love that Laura is very independent and not a push over and when Marco comes into her life he doesn’t make her feel stupid because doesn’t know what she doing but instead help her to be a better dragon and find the happiness she’s be longing for.
The narration for Anna Lowe audiobooks are amazing Kelsey Osborne has an amazing talent to bring each character our perfectly but still keep their individually and make each one have a different sound.
Can not wait for Fire Maidens: Ireland
