As a parent of grown children, I couldn’t help but think how helpful this would have been years ago. I listened out of curiosity and was seriously impressed—practical lessons, engaging delivery, and zero fluff. It breaks down the basics in a way that actually sticks. I’m even recommending it to my kids now for their kids. It’s the kind of resource I wish had existed when we were figuring all this out on our own.

I got this audiobook to help my niece understand how money works without feeling like school. It’s easy to follow, and she actually liked listening to it! I also picked up a few tips myself. The activities are practical, and the stories make it relatable. If you’re looking for a way to teach kids (or even yourself) about handling money, this is a solid choice. Worth it for a stress-free start to building smart habits!

Having books like this is such an amazing thing, and to now have them on Audible is even better. The interactive financial learning in chapter 2 is such a good of getting younger kids to engage with this stuff. Schools often lack education in these important topics that will actually help kids when they leave school and become adults. The family budgeting is a lovely and practical way of building your family to be a financial team and work together. Jaye also covers fun things like budget planning for movie nights and birthday parties. The exercises and quizzes are a brilliant way to keep the kids engaged and help them to take in all this valuable information.

I bought this for my 16-year-old daughter after she came home from her first job, completely overwhelmed about taxes, budgeting, and "adult stuff" that nobody had ever explained to her. As a parent, I realized I was failing her by assuming she'd just "figure it out" like I had to.
This book is a game-changer. The author speaks teen language without being cringey about it (trust me, my daughter would have roasted me if I gave her something patronizing). The financial chapters alone are worth the price - my daughter now has her own savings plan and understands compound interest better than some adults I know.
What I love most is how practical everything is. Real scenarios, real solutions. The chapter on digital life and privacy made both of us update our security settings immediately. The relationship advice is honest without being preachy, and the career readiness section has her thinking strategically about her future instead of just stressing about it.
My daughter thanked me for getting her this book, which never happens with anything "educational." She's been sharing tips with her friends, and I've caught her referencing stuff from the book in everyday conversations.
If you have a teen (or you ARE a teen), get this book. It fills gaps that schools and even well-meaning parents often miss. Worth every penny for the confidence and independence it's building in my kid.

I picked this up with my grandkids in mind—because let’s be honest, teaching money habits early makes life easier down the road (for them and their parents).

The lessons are simple, clear, and surprisingly fun. Jaye Kelley makes big ideas—like saving, budgeting, and even investing—feel doable for young minds. I’m planning to pass this along to my kids to read with their kids. It’s a great little tool for building money confidence from the start.

This book goes way beyond just telling kids to save their money. It starts with how money even became a thing, then explains how to earn it, save it, and use it wisely. The section on chores for cash gives solid ideas for how kids can start managing money early. It also talks about needs versus wants, which is important but often skipped over. There’s a whole chapter that walks through budgeting step by step, using examples that actually make sense for kids.

The interactive parts are useful too. There are games, quiz-style lessons, and even activities like mock garage sales and lemonade stands. It also explains interest, credit cards, and cryptocurrency in ways that are clear and age-appropriate. The later chapters focus on building habits like patience, smart shopping, and sharing money responsibly. This is the kind of book that works well as a learning tool because it teaches real skills with real-life context.
