I loved the dual narration from Lexi Evans and Vincent Skye

After his mother and sister died, Caleb didn't have a good childhood. Hayley is the resident Doctor at Coopers the gym that Caleb, a MMA fighter trains at. Caleb and Hayley's story will pull at your heartstrings. You will find yourself pulling for the characters. This is book, full of drama angst and heartache.

I was waiting for Caleb and Hayley's story! Caleb is so broken, I needed to hear his past and how love could help him. Nikki Ash delivers an emotional story that I listened to and could not stop. Hayley has had a crush on Caleb for a long time, but has backed off any thoughts due to his indifference towards her. When he is injured during a drug heist protecting Marco, Hayley offers her home to him as he heals. Marco also comes as her foster son and the three begin to bond as a family. But with Caleb's past haunting him, will he be able to give in to the feelings he is developing towards Hayley? Ash weaves a thread of suspense, the relevant issue of PTSD and the love of not only family, but friends. This tight knit group has me captivated and Ash writes as if I am there and experiencing it all. I can't wait to hear the next in the series, it will be like coming home.

Lexi Evans and Vincent Skye use their talents to bring this story alive. Evans is Hayley, and she unwraps her heart. Her voice keeps her guarded with Caleb and wide open with Marco. Caleb is a strong yet emotional character and Skye nails his personality. Each scene with these performers is engaging and kept me captivated. Love this series!

I wanted so bad to know how Caleb’s love life would pan out. His reluctance to being touched intrigued me. Now I know and I felt so much for him. And Marcos weaving himself into his life plus the gym doctor’s generous heart. I think this is my favorite from the series. Loved it!!

I love this whole series and this addition was no different. I really like how the author delves into real struggles and shows how friendship and found family can band together to take care of each other and help each other through their struggles. Caden and Haley try so hard to be there for each other and yet are both dealing with their own issues. A great listen!

I am loving Nikki Ash’s “Fighting” series and I have been looking forward to Caleb’s story from what we saw of his behavior in the last book I knew his story was not an easy one, that he had some issues and possibly skeletons in his closet. Haley, a doctor of sports medicine, works with the fighters, and has an attraction to Caleb, but he does not reciprocate those feelings. Actually, his friends never saw him show a romantic interest to anyone, and he has his reasons, ones he never shared, not even with his closest friends. Hailey is getting ready to more past her feelings for Caleb, friend-zoning him instead. Caleb had taken an interest in a kid from the neighborhood, Marco, and took him under his wing. Marco has a crap home life and had to grow up fast despite still being a kid and when trouble comes his way, it is Caleb and then Haley who help him get out of it and keep him safe. I had some guesses where this story was leading, but did not know how it was going to get there and was blown away by it all. Some of it was hard to hear and watch, gut-wrenching, and it was some journey for Caleb, and for Marco, too. And they could not have had a better person by their side than Haley and all his friends who had their back. Loved watching Caleb overcome his past and put his demons to rest, also loved watching what they did for Caleb and his sister. Nikki Ash never disappoints, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. The drama is non-stop and there is plenty of angst, heartfelt emotions, and a slow burn, but so worth the wait romance. Thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.  

🎧📚🎧 Lexi Evans and Vincent Skye did an amazing job bringing these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Evans played Haley’s role with perfection, grasping all aspects of her personality, from her caring side to her strength and determination. Skye was just as fantastic in his role as Caleb, grasping his demeanor perfectly. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary and support characters, too. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates this already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another excellent listen.

This is an emotional story about Caleb, who had an awful upbringing and therefore, swore off relationships. I absolutely loved how strong Hayley was and how she supported him so that he could grow. The addition of Marco, who also had an awful childhood and became Hayley and Caleb's ward by need (trigger warnings here for a particularly difficult scene where Marco was separated from his family) elevated the story by showing the strength and characters of our couple but also the world that was created by this author. This story was fully elevated by a great narration with multiple newer to me narrators who did an awesome job bringing the emotions to the forefront. This story will stay with me for a while!

This series is just beyond expectations. This story had me in my feelings and like I knew the characters and empathized with them and their situations. The book just grabbed you until the last word. The narrators really made the story theirs and did an amazing job. I cannot wait for more.
