Frühling in Neuharlingersiel: Bei einem Malkurs auf dem Steffenshof stellen die Teilnehmer zur Begrüßung ihr Lieblingsbild vor. Karin Müller hat ein Bild aus dem Hausstand ihrer Oma dabei, das verdächtig an Van Gogh erinnert. Eine Kopie? Denn eine Kunstsammlerin war Karins Oma nicht, und vermögend schon mal gar nicht. Mitstreiter Conrad ist sich trotzdem sicher, dass es echt ist. Doch bevor er das Bild einem Experten zeigen kann, ist Karin tot und das Bild verschwunden. Rudi, Henner und Rosa wollen nicht an Zufall glauben, und sie haben recht: In Karins Blut wird Ketamin nachgewiesen. Und als kurz darauf auch Conrad an einem Herzanfall stirbt, ist das Trio in Alarmbereitschaft.
