Summary
An inspiring story everyone should know...and will never forget! Based on historical fact, this captivating novel tells the story of the legendary Edith Cavell, a British nurse whose duties as a healer clashed with the demands of a ruthless occupying regime during World War I.
At the request of a brilliant, hot-headed surgeon, Edith went from London to Brussels to create Belgium's first school of nursing. At the height of her success, the German army marched into neutral Belgium and took over her hospital and school.
Knowing the dangers of working against the repressive and brutal control of the German occupiers, Edith joined the Resistance movement. Her life was then plunged into the dangerous and clandestine world of the Belgian Underground, where she became a key link in the rescuing of Allied soldiers separated from their units. For nine months, this quiet, religious nurse went about saving over a thousand soldiers under the very noses of the German command.
"Patriotism is not enough." - Edith Cavell
This book is the British edition of Fatal Decision: Edith Cavell WWI Nurse by Terri Arthur.

A true story of humanity we can all learn from
I read about Edith and her story while I’m Canada on holiday and was shocked as a British person I had not heard about her story before. It’s a story that shows true devotion for humanity.

A novel full of factual history.
Like another person who left a review I became interested in learning more about Edith Cavell after visiting the Rocky Mountains in Canada. Who could this person be to have a mountain named after her? Overall I was interested in the story, and enjoyed how the story was put together. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the narrator. I found the book very hard going because of the narrator. I bared with the book because I wanted to learn, and glad I did. I would recommend the novel, which is full of factual history. Just not sure about the narrator, how it was put over…

Shockingly bad.
I was so looking forward to listening. This is singularly a shocking read. The narrator sounds drunk and the very least the WORST narrator I've ever heard. Audible you should be ashamed
