Summary
Eden Chase is head over heels in love with her husband, Tom. He's the sort of man who doesn't give much away, but Eden doesn't mind that - Tom is worth the effort. So when he's accused of a years-old robbery and murder, Eden won't believe it. No, not her Tom - he's not capable of the things they're saying he did.
With Tom in prison, it's up to Eden to clear his name. But the closer she gets to the truth, the more she uncovers about her husband's past. Does she really know him after all?
As Eden goes deeper into the ugly underworld that holds the answers, the more danger she's exposed to, and she's not sure she can save her husband in time. But is he even worth saving?

Disappointing ending
I love listening to Annie Aldington, she compliments the books written by authors such as Roberta Kray and Martina Cole. The stories are easy to follow and, if you are a fan, you'll know they are quite predictable. This book I listened to after The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins, that was heavy going; I nearly gave up half way through but persevered until the end. So as a little respite I needed Annie. Coincidently, I received the notification that Roberta's new book was available the day I finished Moonstone, smiles all round.
The story is good, performance good but the ending is so disappointing. I won't go into detail so as not to spoil it but I needed to write this in the review. I was really into the story expecting a big boom ending.... it didn't happen. There was a twist to it but so slight I nearly missed it.
Worth a listen if you like these types of books. As I wrote, the story is good and enjoyed it.

It was o.k.
I enjoyed the book the characters were interesting but it didn’t grip me as her other books have although I was surprised with the outcome I don’t want to spoil other readers so I will keep quiet
