About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

The sensational new crime novel from the best-selling author of Snap.

It was never supposed to be murder....

Pensioner Felix Pink is about to find out that it’s never too late...for life to go horribly wrong.

When Felix lets himself in to Number 3 Black Lane, he’s there to perform an act of kindness and charity: to keep a dying man company as he takes his final breath....

But just 15 minutes later Felix is on the run from the police - after making the biggest mistake of his life. Now his routine world is turned upside down as he tries to discover what went wrong, while staying one step ahead of the law.

Exit is the heart-pounding, heart-breaking and often hilarious new novel from Sunday Times best-selling author Belinda Bauer.

As the story began, I thought it was about something. Then, it changed to something else. Then, it changed again. In the end, it was everything.

The sting in my eyes is still lingering as I am writing this review.

just finished this audiobook and I absolutely loved it! slow paced but with plenty of twists and turns leaving you guessing what might happen next! Felix is an adorable old man and I love the use of some of the old school phrases which took me back to my childhood. if you havent listened to or read this book already then I can highly recommend.

I love Felix

Had to review this one, it’s right up there with my favourite books now, yet if I’d listened to the sample I may not have bothered.
First couple chapters are a bit slow and the narrator bothered me at first, but stick with it though, it gets so much better.
I listened to the whole book in one day, I didn’t want to stop.
I cannot recommend highly enough, it’s definitely worth all the high reviews.
A great murder mystery with fabulous array of characters.
It’s the first book I’ve wanted to cheer at the end, in a good way.

Best book of the year for me

I loved this. It's a gently meandering 'You'll probably guess Whodunnit' after one or two false starts. The characters are (mostly) extremely likeable and easy to follow. The unlikeable characters are more like cartoon bad guys and any violence is of the "KERPOW!" style and heavily moderated with humour.
The writing is excellent, as is the narration - the two are perfectly matched. The narrator differentiates well between the characters and avoids the 'forced' unnatural effect of many narrators.
You won't laugh out loud but I think you'll smile and chuckle a fair bit and really rout for the 'goodies'.

Very entertaining with gentle humour.

I really enjoyed this story; it was unusual, funny, and unpredictable ... brought to life by superb narration. Recommended

Excellent narration

Intriguing, charming, made me laugh, made me cry. It’s written - so many brilliant moments. I really enjoyed Snap but I loved the emotional connections I made in Exit. Tim McInnerny’s narration is joyous. I listened to the whole book while out on walks. I expect people wondered why I was laughing to myself and then shedding tears. Highly recommend.

Loved it.

I really enjoyed this book but I think what really made it was the fantastic narrator. It was kind, funny, heartfelt and some great twists

Lovely book

Having listened to book by this author before, the style was what I expected. I was not disappointed. The plot is not the often used formula for crime fiction which makes a pleasant change. As good as Tim McInnerny is, some of his voices can be a bit strained but fitted the gentle comedic elements in the story. I will certainly look out for more of her books on Audible as I have thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Something a little different

Read it on recommendation as it didn't sound like something I would choose for myself, but really enjoyed it. Nice variety of emotional registers as well as characters, all pretty well performed. The audio book equivalent of a page-turner.

Good plot, well prrformed
