About this listen

How well do you really know your own family?

The wife: Eve is desperate for her life to be perfect. Living in a beautiful house, with gorgeous views of the countryside, is all she’s ever wanted. And she’ll do whatever it takes to hold onto her dream life.

The son: Joe is a model student; he never puts a foot wrong. He knows his mother wouldn’t tolerate it. Until the night of his sixteenth birthday party, when things go horribly wrong and someone in the house is left fighting for their life. As the blue flashing lights of the police and ambulance arrive, all eyes are on the Griffiths family.

The husband: Noah doesn’t always tell his wife the truth. He knows she has high expectations. The number of lies he’s told are starting to spiral out of control. When a shocking accident happens in his own house, can he keep his family together or will he lose everything?

As the aftermath of the accident unravels, it’s clear nothing will ever be the same again. But who is telling the truth about what happened and who is lying? And who will kill to keep their secrets…?

An utterly addictive and emotional psychological thriller filled secrets and lies from bestselling author A J McDine. Perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell.

it's a story that could have been finished faster, quite predictable and not really any edge of the seat tension. passed the time while doing house work and decorating.

An enjoyable listen but not thrilling

absolute rubbish, 15 chapters in and so far only thing that's happened is girl takes over dose. The book is just full of waffle with poor weak story line

Really good story, kept me hooked, I’m slightly biased though as love most books narrated by Tamsin Kennard

I’ve enjoyed many of this authors books but this one I really didn’t get on with. Drawn out and a bit boring. I ended up speeding up the narration to get through it. The parents are all clueless, the kids are all brats and the locals are all bumpkins. Awful prologue too.
Give it a miss fellow readers.

Lacklustre
