Summary
Sara has lost her zest for life. Trapped sharing a house with her soon-to-be-ex-husband, with grown-up children who still need her but take her for granted, working in a job where her boss bullies her, the final straw is the heartbreak of losing her beloved best friend Lainey.
But Lainey’s death could be the beginning of Sara’s new life … as the last gift Lainey gives to her friend is a sum of money and a request – that Sara travels to Italy, the scene of the pair’s youthful adventures, and scatters Lainey’s ashes on the beach at Portofino.
For once, Sara decides to be brave. She quits her job, tells her family they can manage without her, and sets off on the trip of a lifetime. Sara finds herself drawn to Carlo. Handsome and charming, he is everything Sara finds it so hard to be – carefree, impulsive, living in the moment without worrying about the future.
And then Sara sees something she shouldn’t … and discovers a secret about Carlo that makes her question everything she thought she knew.

Very enjoyable
I was really looking forward to reading this book, and it did not disappoint, I thought the first two were better. I felt it finished quite abruptly but nevertheless I enjoyed it.

Keenly observed
Another relatable, descriptive and keenly observed novel from Kerry on life and relationships.
Her books tackle all the nuances of life both good and bad giving hope of something more if we reach out and grab it!

A lovely trip to Italy
I have read the other books in this series and so far this is my favourite. I find the characters really believable. I love how a woman in her 50s can find herself again after being a mother and wife. I love the narrators voice and the pace of the story. It’s a lovely escape - a fabulous summer read.

Good conclusion to the Rome series, though I'd be happy for more books.
Loved the characters which were woven through the whole Rome Apartment series and great that there was mention of them in this 3rd book. Kelly Fisher is such a good writer and the detail about Rome is enchanting. This one seemed a little slower than the previous two, but very enjoyable and addictive nevertheless.

Loved this book
The third book in the series, some ideas seem to dry up as series go on but not this set, they just get better. I can and do highly recommend Kerry’s books, I have loved them all and can relate to
many of them, being perhaps of a certain age I like to look back and think “ hell ye I remember doing/thinking that too” Give them a try, you might as I have find a new favourite x

Another uplifting book in the series
Really enjoyed how this series is progressing . Interesting characters . My only slight criticism would be about Boo. Not sure why but I couldn’t quite get how she changed into quite an unpleasant character so quickly . Kerry has a great way of dealing with the grey choices . as you get older there is very little black and white clarity and Kerry’s stories always explore that in detail . Looking forward to the next one in this series .

I have loved all 3 books in the series. My only problem now is what to read next!
A beautiful story about learning to let go as your children move into adulthood - encouraging them to make their own choices and take responsibility for their lives. At the same time, learning to put yourself first and not accept living a life where you’re not happy. I too have moved on - taken risks and found happiness later in life. I really identified with the main character.

Enjoyable easy listen
Good narration, narrator had an easy to listen to voice. Enjoyable story, no surprises, it went the way you expected, and wanted, it to go. A feel good listen.
