Summary

A brutal new Ice Age covers the Earth…

When an experiment to reverse climate change goes disastrously wrong, Jarred and his daughter Hope are forced to head south in search of warmth. This manmade eternal winter shows no signs of stopping, and with temperatures continuing to plummet, fears of a new Ice Age drive survivors into a panic.

Jarred and Hope don’t have the wilderness skills needed to survive this disaster. But when their car spins out of control, they’re forced to fend for themselves in the ruthless and unforgiving forest surrounding them. And as they journey through the snow-swept wilderness, they slowly discover they are not alone….

Survivalist Fiona knows how to deal with a harsh winter on her own, but this new world is deadly. She’s got a cabin stockpiled, and is all alone until she runs across Benjy, a forest ranger who’s ready to help, but has his own reasons for staying with her.

Civilization is crumbling. There’s no electricity. The cold is getting worse, and resources are scarce. To survive, Jarred and Hope will have to find allies they can trust, and push themselves harder than they ever imagined. Because even a moment’s weakness in this harsh icy wasteland can mean only one thing.

Freezing to death in the merciless cold…

Good, entertaining story

A good, entertaining story. It does not provide you with tips for an endless winter or weekend survival, though. Quite lo; not a bad thing. I enjoyed the narrator. He had a variety of voices to distinguish characters.

unpleasant characters

I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. At least two of the characters would incite me to smother them, especially the whiney teen.

A Really Good Story Read Well by Maxwell Zener

Grace Hamilton writes in a very imaginative way. This book has, amongst others, a whinging teenager and an oily park ranger to add extra dimensions to the story. The endless snow and bitter weather provide the framework from which the characters can develop. As with other books by this author, there are elements of cosy preparedness which act as the lure to keep the characters pressing forward facing very real danger as they strive to reach that safety. An excellent read with plenty of adventure and cosy safety to be had! Highly recommended.

The book is read very well allowing you to forget that it is only one person reading many characters. In particular, Maxwell Zener did the whingey teenager well – she could be very aggravating! Well worth buying.

survival

I have really enjoyed listening to Endless winter, it's very possible that people could survive in the way the Authors have described and there's always some people who would become violent and want control over others in these circumstances of survival.

Decent amount of peril and imagination

This feels a very long audio book, but it is broken down effectively into sections, with each one having its own peril and conclusion and so the story moves on. Yes you do have to let your imagine go with it but that is the fun of reading/listening to these types of books. The narration suited the story and all in all would recommend.

Wish I could write a better review, listened to the end still no better.

Very poorly written. Only kept listening as I needed to know what happened. Then just kept despairing as I really don’t think people say or act like these did in certain situations. The only person you got to know was Fiona she kept me going and I really wished I hadn’t bothered.
