In Embrace Discomfort, Michael Easter seeks out off-the-grid visionaries, disruptive genius researchers, and mind-body conditioning trailblazers who are unlocking the life-enhancing secrets of a counterintuitive solution: discomfort. Each of the 10 episodes except for the final one will feature an expert in a discomfort area, including ultra-runner Courtney Dauwalter, survivalist Laura Zerra, nutritionist Dr. Trevor Kashey, and fear expert Dr. Joseph E. LeDoux

Award-winning author of NYT best seller The Comfort Crisis and the creator of 2%–a popular Substack and podcast—Michael Easter is a contributing editor at Men’s Health magazine, columnist for Outside magazine, and professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Get ready to push your limits
Here's the thing: I love being comfortable and would happily spend all day bingeing TV if not for my Catholic guilt and immigrant parents' lessons on work ethic. That's why I'm excited about Michael Easter's new Audible Original podcast, Embrace Discomfort. Easter's engaging style and talent for simplifying complex ideas, plus the diverse insights of experts including ultrarunner Courtney Dauwalter and fear specialist Dr. Joseph E. LeDoux, make this a must-listen for anyone seeking self-improvement. Bonus: You can also catch Easter on Chrissy Teigen's podcast, releasing the same day. —Rachael X., Audible Editor

I really love how Michael takes you on journeys and makes you feel that change is possible. I have a 9 week old and for a life that feels that it could be not inwardly focused and more outwardly focused, this book creates small opportunities of positive change that can be possible while looking after one so little. I feel the lessons needs to be digested and considered to suit the life you want to lead.

Giving what I thought was normal practice a name. It’s very much worth a listen and see the tweaks u can make to your life to feel better.

It's prescriptions are very mild compared to the extreme guests and examples. Take the stairs, talk to a friend. Then ultra marathoners and people who live alone meditating for a whole year. Like what? One I felt the most practical / powerful was the personal trainer who suggested just recording exactly what you're doing right now (eat sleep etc) and the power of seeing your own behaviour recorded. That can motivate change itself. Good take away.

it starts out good for like 30mins before it just became an advertisement for their businesses and praising each other for the next 2 hours on how great they are.
