About this listen

Thrust together by an extraordinary set of circumstances, Duke and Yanoo set off on what turns out to be an amazing adventure. From very different backgrounds, Duke being the pet of a royal household, and Yanoo the prize exhibit from a travelling circus, the pair set off on a journey of discovery, finding out about themselves and the people who control their world, through a series of exciting and, at times, terrifying escapades. They make friends along the way, but they make enemies too, and none greater than the vindictive and callous bounty-hunter, Van Dolamon, for whom the pursuit becomes personal. Can they stay beyond his mercenary grasp?

Full of thrills and moments of great pathos and humor, this is a story which will appeal to 10 - 14-year-olds, who are curious about themselves and about what it means to be human.

Brilliant storytelling. Should be a film!

‘Duke’ by Finn Brandon is a great story, well written and so imaginative. It held my attention throughout. Big kids and adults alike will be entranced.
It would make a brilliant film. I hope there will be more stories – perhaps the villain will make another appearance!
The narration is a tour de force.
