Summary
A hostile town. A mountaintop mission. Will their magic save the day or spoil the pudding?
Imogen thought escaping the king's wrath would give her everything she wanted. But her relationship with Prince Hank is tougher than an overcooked flan, and the welcome they get on Badlands Island is far less than friendly.
Accused of kidnapping, Imogen proposes they prove their worth by traveling through a deadly forest to retrieve a magical herb at the top of a mountain. Forced to take her baking skills on the road, Imogen and her friends must navigate monsters, secrets, and a possible traitor.
And the little matter of the impending typhoon is seriously compressing their timeline....
With the storm and creatures closing in, can Imogen complete the quest, or will her next meal be her last?
Due East, Beasts & Campfire Feasts in the seventh book in the Spells & Caramels series of paranormal cozy mysteries. If you like amateur witch sleuths, unbreakable friendships, and fascinating magical creatures, then you'll love Erin Johnson's pause-resisting adventure.

I absolutely can't wait for the next installment!
Excellent narration as in all the others in this series, and that makes it a pleasure to listen to.

This is a real feast for any audio book lover
Oh wow. I enjoyed this book so much!!! This book continues from where the last book ended and I would recommend that you listen to that one first, actually I would recommend you start with book one because it is such a great series and each book is somehow better than the last. I love the characters both old ones and new ones, they are so much fun and you end up chuckling because you know what each one is likely to say or do, before it happens, the author writes about them so well they feel like very old colourful friends. This book is like one big adventure, although there is a mystery to solve it is not that obvious, which I really liked because it just unfolded with the story. Off to start the next book in this excellent series.
Imogen and the gang escaped one deadly situation only to land straight in another. The captain of the guards in the strange land that they landed on has gone missing, the same time they appeared. Is this a coincidence? The village elders don't think so and want to banish them from there town and leave there fate in the hands of the beasts that roam the island and with no magic to help. The only way to prove there innocence is to travel though a storm in a deadly forest and pick a flower that only blooms once a year, proving they come in peace. Accompanied by a select group of guards, Imogen and her friends head out to face the wild beasts of the bad lands. But things are not what they seem, beast traps are empty and there is still the problem of the missing guard.
I liked the narrator and the sound effect were fun. Not sure my dog liked the sudden roar every now and again though.

Another amazing edition to the series
I'm so happy that the Spells & Caramels series isn't losing its spark like many book series do. Even at book 7 there is plot points that you realise were hinted at in the first books, I love how cleverly it is all woven and the characters are developed so well. Usually with books series, once you get past book 3 they lose there momentum and you find characters are doing or saying things they would never have done at the start of the series just to fit the plot and it pulls you out of the story. But with this series its not like that, every character is true to themselves, the plot is well thought out and nothing seems rushed yet the story is flowing quick enough to keep you hooked.
A shout out to the narrator Hannah, she makes the characters come alive and is a delight to listen to.
All in all, this is a wonderful series if you're into witch mysteries, while waiting for book 7 to come out I tried out two other similar books to Spells & Caramels and they just lacked the spark these books have!
