Poor narration

Good story but the narrator put me off. Not sure if I want to listen to book2.

Varied performance

Doing that fake, raspy loud voice instead of actually shouting or screaming is an instant breaking of immersion for me, and it sounds a bit jarring. Performance apart from that is as expected.

Great standalone story and lore for Diablo 4

You DO NOT have to know anything about Diablo or be a Diablo fan/player before you listen to this. It is an amazing standalone story but will also enhance and give you essential background for the Diablo 4 campaign. It is also chronologically the best book to get into the franchise.

The story is full of thrilling events making you want to know what happens next and it would make for a great animated tv-series.

Narration is excellent, character voices are unique but fail to portray character emotions in some situations which caught me off-guard and led to some hilarious moments while listening. I highly recommend this and the 2 following books as well.

Horrible voices

The story is decent, but some of the characters are voiced in a weird manner. The main character sounds like he has throat cancer and smokes 4 packs a day. This ruined a rather good story for me and made me cringe, especially in the sections where there's a lot of yelling and fighting.

Decent Story, God Awful Narration

So when you come to make an Audio Book, you check off - Story...tick, Tape machine...tick, biscuits and coffee...check...Damn! we forgot the Narrator....error OK you'll do you sound like a talentless Dalek, Christ! WTF is wrong with people? The single most important thing in an Audio Book is the Narration, you has one job to do...Jeez

Terrible voice actor and mediocre story

Mediocre story with a lot of eye rolling moments where the main character is extremely dense and most likely the worst voice actor I have heard in a very long time.

not for the uninitiated

Completely incomprihensible.
Heard Diablo had a good story and interesting lore, but as someone who hasn't played the games, this made no sense at all.

Is this a joke?

I’ve purchased and enjoyed other Richard A. Knaak books - but will be returning this as soon as I can due to the lazy and monotonous narration.

This isn’t a performance, it’s just someone reading words.
