Much needed caregiving information
Dementia Caregiving Companion, to me, was a powerful audiobook to listen to as I found my mind wondering how I would react and manage if and when I am faced with this situation. Knowing that one day I will have to at least perform an assistant role as a caregiver, I feel the book provided me both insight and a plan for when that day comes.
I felt the best portion of the book for me was the chapters on communication, and what to expect from an Alzheimer patient and what kinds of communication I should use when handling the patient. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking to learn more.

Such an Important Resource
This resource has been a game-changer for me. My father-in-law was just diagnosed a few weeks ago, and we have been devastated. After listening to this book, I feel much more confident we can do this. This is not going to be easy, but the author really helps provide the support and an easy-to-implement way to avoid becoming overwhelmed. I highly recommend this for anyone just beginning the caretaking or those who think they have it all under control. I feel they would also get so much out of this!

A WONDER BOOK
This book is incredibly moving, drawing out deep emotions as it delves into the realities of dementia. As a mental health professional with both clinical and personal experience in this area, I found it especially resonant. The story of Evie and Maria brings everything to life, offering raw honesty that makes this book impactful and relatable. It’s filled with valuable information for anyone managing dementia, including non-pharmacological therapies like Cognitive Stimulation and Reminiscence Therapy—practical, effective tools for treatment. The section on clinical trials introduces a sense of hope, and the "Caregiver’s Corner" is a thoughtful addition, offering reflection points, resources, and reminders on self-care for caregivers. This book is an invaluable resource for anyone caring for a loved one with dementia.

A Caregivers must have!
This book was an absolute lifesaver while I was caring for a family member with dementia. It took really difficult topics and made them feel manageable, breaking everything down into clear, simple steps. The practical strategies were things I could actually put to use right away, which made such a difference. The caregiver self-care tips especially hit home—I finally learned how to take care of my own well-being, something I’d been neglecting for so long. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone feeling lost or overwhelmed in their caregiving journey. It truly feels like having a guide to get you through the hardest days.

Essential for Caregivers
If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing to care for a loved one with dementia, then you’ll want to listen to this audiobook. I particularly liked the sections on how to balance self care and burnout for the caregiver, which felt equally important to the other helpful tips on how to handle specific struggles. Much needed!
