About this listen

Years of struggle have left Zecia weakened in their war against the Kan'Tanu Cult.

Negotiating for peace is not an option when the System is in control. It can only be purchased through blood and steel. No one is spared from the winds of war.

Zac and his elite armies have been forced to the frontlines just as opportunity strikes. An ancient war fortress has risen from the dimensional depths.

Built by the Limitless Empire, it holds power and secrets far beyond what's seen on the desolate frontiers. Seizing it could be the key to changing the winds of war. Zac finds himself in the heart of the struggle.

No matter what, he won't let it fall into the Kan'Tanu's hands.

still love it

while this book is only taking slow steps in the overall Storyline i still enjoy the Characters and their adventures. Some explanations of visions/experiences could have been cut shorter though. sad that its finished now and that i have to wait so long for the next book.

Axe swinging, progressive awesomeness

Another great addition. Sometimes feel like it goes down a bit of a rabbit hole describing overly complex situations often resulting in ‘breakthroughs’, but otherwise still hooked and looking forward to the next book!

Masterful, Tasteful, and Interesting

This has truly been an excellent series.

Aside from having a fascinating universe and system, it has a ton of captivating character, and there development, as usual, is on point.

The plot is carried by realistic levels of skill, luck, and personal drive and is a true delight to follow.

Pavi’s narration is simply outstanding. His ability to bring the characters, battles, and emotions to life adds so much depth to the story.

Back on track...for now

I wasn't sure whether to give this book 4 or 5 stars. But I'm giving 5 out of the benefit of the doubt. This book is moving back to classic DOF. There's still cultivator mumbo jumbo word salad, but it isn't center of attention.

We're back in Port Atwood and Zechia, dealing with the characters and places we care about. It's not just a word salad ala something ChatGPT would regurgitate on a bad day like the last few books.

If this is indicative of the style going forward, then we're back in business.

Great series but this one a bit slow

This book seems to be a stepping stone between the last book and the next, which is also kind of what the previous book also felt like. There is a lot of padding. Spends too long focusing on trying to “break through” each time, rather developing the plot. Certain characters didn’t get to meet up again so dragging that out too. Pavi helps carry the series through the turgid stuff, but I think the series is starting to peter out now, and it’s stretching the storyline out as line as possible to spread it over as many books as possible. This may have been my last in the series and I’ll look for others with a bit more excitement.

Amazing!

As always amazing performance from Pavi, the story was gripping to the end with many twists and turns. Can’t wait for more and hope it will never end!
