About this listen
The Arizona Vengeance is killing it on the ice. But one player can’t seem to keep his eye on the puck - all thanks to the woman he just married to save her life.
“Find your next hockey hero in Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series.” (New York Times best-selling author Jill Shalvis)
My name is Dax Monahan, and hockey is my passion. And if you want to succeed in this sport you have to bust your ass 24/7. I’ve never had a hard time focusing on my career, but when my past comes knocking, no amount of training can prepare me for what lies on the other side of the door.
Regan Miles was always like a sister to me. When a shared tragedy brings us face to face after several years, I’m shocked to see just how much she’s changed. Gone is the shy, awkward little girl that always used to chase me and her brother around. Instead, I’m faced with a gorgeous woman who makes it damn hard to concentrate on anything but her.
Turns out, she’s in trouble, and the only way out is to get married.
I surprise myself when I tell her to marry me. Order her, actually. And, most shocking of all, she doesn’t even hesitate before saying yes.
So it’s settled. We’re getting hitched, and she’s moving to Arizona with me. All platonic, of course.
The catch?
I never knew I’d fall so hard for my best friend’s little sister.
The Arizona Vengeance series from New York Times best-selling author Sawyer Bennett can be listened to together or separately:
- Bishop
- Erik
- Legend
- Dax
Dax is a member of the Arizona Vengeance Hockey team when he gets the tragic news that his childhood best friend, Lance has died, leaving his sister Regan in a difficult situation as it becomes apparent, his friend didn't have life insurance, & Regan is sick... the kind of sick that having decent medical insurance is vital for. The kind of insurance that she can't afford as a Masters student. Finally seeing some way he can help Dax insists (Orders her, actually.) that they get married so that she can be covered by HIS insurance... she reluctantly agrees and soon all that time together begins to heat up and Dax can't fight the desire he feels for his best friends little sister.
"There's something unique between us. I've got a bond with her that I've never felt with another person."
Despite the tragic backstory this does not have a lot of angst, Dax and Regan share great chemistry and the narrators Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose did an amazing job bringing this story to life.
Books in this series take place during the same period so some of the stories overlap and it gives you the flipside perspective of events as they are happening, which is pretty cool.

As usual Sawyer Bennett wrote the most swoon worthy story that will give you all the feels! This was only enhanced by the narrators. Their voices were perfect for these characters. Regan and Dax were the perfect match, the chemistry was there 100%
This book was super tropey which I loved! Dax is a hockey player, brothers best friend and there’s an Arranged marriage! Regan has a rare disease which is extremely expensive to treat and Dax being the friendly guy that he is comes up with the perfect plan.
When I closed my eyes I could immediately envision Dax and Regan because of how well the narration flowed with the story.
As the two grow closer together things get heated and feelings are so revealed. The main conflict in the book was Regan’s illness and it’s affect on her.
This was an easy summer read that I’ll definitely pick up again. The narrator for Dax is reason enough to come back!
Dax’s voice is EVERYTHING!
