A saga of warring men and the forest fighting back when it is severely encroached. Matters of the heart and magical fantasy are explored. There is mans inhumanity to man as well his mistreatment of nature. I think the foundations for further tales has been written. The narration, characterization and soundscapes greatly enhance the listening experience.

Brilliant story, fantasy weaved with a touch of reality. How man will wreak havoc on the earth but in a great fantasy world, narrated wonderfully by Nigel Peever. An amazing variety of different voices and atmospheric music make this a delight to listen to.

An unusual story that was initially difficult to get into but later very enjoyable. The plot twists in unexpected ways which keeps you listening. Nigel Peever's rich voice brought characters to life, even those not human.

Though I really enjoyed the story with its wonderful characters and sweeping tale (especially the mystical creatures) it was the narration that blew me over. Not only does the narrator do a marvellous job of telling the story and bringing the characters to life with his vast array of accents, but the background effects make this feel like a movie. From the creaking gate, tweeting birds and rolling music in tension spots I was fully engaged. Lovely tale and very well presented.

Loved it! Fantasy with a twist. Full of character and characters, charged with compassion and emotion, but plenty of action too. A very promising debut. I'm looking forward to the sequel with eagerness. Nigel Peever's narration draws you into what is an already fascinating concept.

have to say that this is book was just what i needed. I am a big game of thrones man so needed something to keep me going until the new tv season comes out and this is just what the doctor ordered

I was given a free copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.

So I'm gonna start with the sound effects.
Some the sound effects are a little overpowering, making it hard to catch what's being said.
The sound effects in general are really good, giving a nice atmosphere to the story.
The story itself is very entertaining and full of excitement, intrigue and much more.
Thd narration is as expected flawless, Nigel delivers a winning performance.

OMG!This was a wonderful book to listen to! The story itself was full of interesting characters and creatures of lore.The narration by Nigel Peever was exceptional!This man can do any voice you may need.The added sound effects made it really feel like you were there.I am looking forward to book 2.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.
