About this listen
The journey begins....
Plunged into darkness, the Earth's surface is shrouded in dust from the impact of asteroid AG5.
Whilst the cloud threatens to choke the very fabric of civilization, Sarah Morgan is being held prisoner. In the depths of a subterranean facility, she has uncovered a deadly weapon; the truth behind the enormous structure buried beneath the Earth.
Elsewhere, Professor Steiner and Robert Goodwin may be humanity's greatest hope, but they must struggle against monumental adversity as an internal battle rages within the Global Meteor Response Council.
Running out of luck, choices and time, all must fight to reclaim their chosen paths or watch those around them wither and die.

Gripping
This is the second of this series… enjoyable & rather along the
lines of AG Riddle … good characters & compelling storyline - good narration… only frustrating thing was that the story just finishes so you always have to buy the next book, but I guess that’s the point. Enjoyable read

Great story
Loved the new characters and the expansion of the main narrative. Really intriguing with the only negative being a main character suddenly becoming very welsh when he wasn’t in the first 😂. Very minor quibble as the narrator is excellent.

Involving, intriguing but iriitatingly flawed
Gildart Jackson does a more than passable job at narrating this thrilling and quite expansive extension on the first story. The characters are starting to be better developed and the story rattles along at a fine pace. However the enjoyment is tempered by some seriously awful character problems which raises huge issues about the much vaunted professionalism and capabilities of both the characters in question and the organisations among them. In particular the 'scientist' who shows as much care and restraint as a class of unsupervised 4 year olds, and a professional soldier who is clearly a medicated sociopath which could not possibly have escaped the attention of the command structure. The progression of the story is much marred by me shouting "Oh come on!!" at these imperfect junctures. However, the story does keep a decent pace and differing story arcs are intriguing and involving.. There are gaping holes in the plot, not the least the main reason for the bunkers in the first place but it's a fun listen

Keeps you on track
A little sidetracked few chapters which may come together later but the nutty army officer episode with all the killing of innocents is a bit off track. I understand character development and stories within stories but so far don't think it adds much to the main story and was a distraction

better
better than the first book. I still find the narrator irritating. He sounds like he's reading the football scores at times. the story kicks along at a fair pace and is easy listening for dog walks.
