Summary
Soon to be a major motion picture starring Jon Hamm as Fletch!
Offering up brisk, tightly written plots and a stellar cast of characters both new and old, Confess, Fletch finds our incorrigible protagonist back in deep waters once again.
Fletch, now newly engaged and happily living out his days in Italy, finds himself embroiled in yet another scandal. His soon-to-be father-in-law has been kidnapped and is now presumed dead, and the priceless collection of rare art that belongs to his fiancée’s family has been stolen.
Ever the investigative reporter, he receives a tip about the missing art that lands him in Boston, where he walks right into a murder scene in his apartment. What clearly looks like a setup to the unfazed Fletch looks quite different to the detective assigned to the case, Mr. Francis Xavier Flynn. But even if the case is seemingly cut-and-dry, Flynn is reluctant to arrest the only suspect that stands before him.
Now under the detective’s watchful eye, Fletch must try to clear his name and search for the missing paintings, all while his gorgeous future mother-in-law works to persuade him for help the best way she knows how—seduction.

Fletch is back, this time as a murder suspect
Fletch is engaged to a beautiful Italian woman named Angela whose father has been kidnapped in Italy. Fletch flies to Boston trying to find the paintings that were stolen from the family's house more than 2 years before, as the family needs them to pay the ransom. But on arrival, he finds a dead woman in his rented apartment and he is the most obvious suspect.
This book is as good as the previous one, lots of action and witty dialogues. This time around Fletch is not as much orchestrating everything as trying not to be sucked into the mess that the murder has created for him. I enjoyed his book, detective Flynn is a lot of fun and I am looking forward to read some books of his own series. Fletch audiobooks are part of the Audible free catalogue - the narrator does a very good job. Also, check the movie based on this book with John Hamm. I guess this book proves that good material cannot go wrong in any format.

The Best Fletch Yet
Thoroughly enjoyed Inspector Flynn and his narration of Groover. made the book such a joy to read and unputdownable!! I do wish they did other female characters though, Dan's range doesn't extend there but boy should he do more Irish. The twist was amazing and delicious. the end such a breathless one as usual. Would want to know more about Angela and Sylvia. overall, highly recommend

Another Great Fletch Story
Whilst not as amusing as “Fletch” there were several really funny moments in amongst an excellent storyline and wonderful characters. The narrator was superb despite a slightly dodgy Irish accent. I’m looking forward to the next book!

Good story ruined by bad accents
I had to stop after an hour because the narrator's attempt at an Irish accent was so bad. Hopeless.

Love these books!
The Fletch series are so enjoyable: good dialogue, puzzling cases, a retro feel (authentic, given when they were written), and a very fitting narration.

unlistenable
The Irish accent was so bad. I hung in there as long as I could but didn't make it past the hour.
