Excellent AI book

This is one of the best books on AI out there. As we know, writing AI books that can stand the test of time - time being six months in this case - this book does well. It has more on the philosophical views and practical consequences around AI than just a description of what it can do. Well written, shocking in some places, this has to be the best primer on AI on the market.

Inspiring and insightful, but needs better narrating.

Great contents. It's good to hear about AI from someone outside of the field. It is a good introduction to the capabilities of LLMs today and a peek into possible futures. I highly recommend this.
However, although I do applaud authors reading there own work, this production would have benefited a lot from a production team who tells the narrator to slow down and not to swallow words.

An excellent level headed overview of LLMs

The hype and utility about LLMs are overstated and will cause problems due to leadership teams in organisations (and Governments) buying into the hype.

However, they do have value as personal assistants, research assistants, and sounding boards as long as you treat all LLM output critically, especially on topics where you are not an expert.

Co-Intelligence by @emollick is an excellent read on how LLMs will likely evolve and be used in business, education, and more generally. The audiobook edition is fantastic. And only 4.5 hours long. It's not much longer than some podcasts that get released these days! Highly recommended.

Great story but terrible narration

I love the content and also own the book. But the audible narration is unfortunately making it something I cannot listen to. Words are being swallowed. I will go back to reading the physical book.

Solid and universal ai knowledge

I'm ready into AI and I've been using it a lot in many experimental ways for 2 years and I think this is amazing, really thought provoking . It affirmed a lot of things that I knew, but also made me understand a lot more around them and also insighyful possiblities for the future. I thought the ending was 😲

AI Unwrapped.

I’ve been looking for a decent publication to explain AI for a while. I’m so glad I ran into this book, which talks about how it works, it current capabilities and how it might progress in the future. It’s led to me using ChatGpT and made me both excited and terrified in equal measure. A must read for proto geeks.

Good intro to the new world

This is an enjoyable listen with some great ideas. Sure it is a bit stretched out with lots of overenthusiastic quotes from ChatGPT but Ethan Mollick has thought more about this than me and he makes some good points. One thing I really like is his suggestion that we "always bring AI to the table." There is almost no task that ChatGPT (or equivalent) cannot contribute to, and we should take the opportunity. The chapter on education is good too. I think teachers should be right now incorporating AI into everything. For instance, right now my son is writing an essay, getting chatGPT to mark it, and then correcting the essay based on ChatGPT's comments. He has spent three hours doing this and remains completely engaged. Ethan Mollick provides a bit of a blueprint on how to harness this. The fact is I think this book will be eclipsed in six months, but those six months will be very important and this is the best source to find out more.

By the way, the reviews for this book sound like they were written by AI. Maybe that is deliberate, but if I was an author in the Penguin stable and I was asked to provide one of these quotes, that is what I would do too.

Incredibly enlightening and inspiring

I've been working with AI, mostly on prompt engineering for specific subject matters, and I wish I had read this book before starting. It helps us to better understand the potential of AI and how to unlock it, making it not only useful but also encouraging.
