About this listen
Jaunty the Clown just wants to entertain families with lighthearted slapstick antics, but people think of clowns as terrifying, nightmarish creatures who hide in closets or under beds. When Jaunty, along with his fellow performers Guffaw, Wagon, Reginald the Pleasant Clown, and Bluehead are fired from the circus, they're told that the world just doesn't like clowns anymore.
Still, clowns have to eat. And since these clowns don't eat children, to make ends meet they're eventually forced to take a job in a popular haunted attraction, the Mountain of Terror. Instead of charming entertainers, they're now scary clowns. A zombie clown. A demon clown. A creepy doll clown.
But the town is about to discover something more frightening than clowns. Because on opening night, millions of oversized spiders emerge from a cave and begin their deadly invasion....
From Bram Stoker Award-nominated author Jeff Strand comes an insane mix of shameless silliness and grisly creepy-crawly horror. Clowns vs. Spiders. Who will win?

Exactly What Ya Paid For.
Millions of head-sized man-eating spiders scuttle towards the Mountain of Terror - a popular theme-park. A handful of clowns, fired from a career as rodeo performers and reluctantly repurposed as scary clowns at the Mountain of Terror, decide their collective old-world conscience will not allow them to stand by as their customers are violated by monster arachnids. That's pretty much it. A premise stretched slightly beyond its welcome and partly redeemed by a twist much later in the story. B-Movie stuff and fair enough for that. Clowns Vs Spiders helps us pass several hours harmlessly (unless you dear listener are an arachnophobe).
I had difficulties with the narrator who I didn't feel was suited to the material and allowed air out of the tension.

Always Fun
If you have read any of Jeff Strand's work before, you know what you are getting.
He does comedy horror really well and has a great natural flow to his writing that never feels forced.
Things always unfold just right.
If you want to get away from the serious, you really can't go wrong here.
My only personal feeling is that I like to have a gap in between his work, otherwise it can feel a little samey.
